How early were organisms able to gain the ability to move? Mobility is one of the evolutionary adaptations that early organisms needed to have in order to survive and the earliest known organisms are said to have existed 600 million years ago. But researchers have unearthed fossils of the earliest mobile organisms that roamed the earth, more than 2.1 billion years ago.
