Wedding Guest Watches Football During The Event

This man was branded “sad” and “disgusting” after he was caught watching a game on his phone at a wedding.

The unnamed man from the US could be seen quietly watching the Minnesota Vikings defeated by the San Francisco 49ers over the weekend - while the groom and his mother shared a dance during the reception.

The short video was shared on Reddit, and he was criticized by wedding shamers.

Some people, however, pointed out that they would be doing the same thing, and there’s no issue to what the guest did. They argued that the wedding reception is not as important as the ceremony and it could drag on for hours.

What are your thoughts about this one?

*shrug* So what? Is he distracting other guests? No. Does he need to have full 100% attention on the organized events? No. What next, complain that someone went outside for a smoke break while the bride tossed the flowers?

There are people who care if you watch the dancing at a reception?! That poor guy! As long as his date doesn't care, why should anyone else? I routinely knit wherever I'm at, & I will happily match attitudes about it

Game three of the 2008 Stanley cup playoff landed on my wedding date and our home team was in the finals. You couldn't stream back then on your phone, but because I knew it was an important game to half my guests and a quarter probably would have rather watch the game than be at a wedding, I rented the largest TV I could and had it playing during our reception. If you can't beat em', join them.
