Notre Dame’s Spiral is Gone. What Now?

Ever since the devastating fire that destroyed much of Notre Dame, there was a discussion as to whether it should be rebuilt the way it was or be built with a more modern design. The French government has created a competion to replace the spire and many proposals have been submitted.

Amongst some of the alternative options proposed by designers are a beam of light shooting up to the sky, a stained glass roof to accentuate the Gothic elements of the structure or something in between the old and new, thus bridging the past with the present.

Take a look at the various proposal to rebuild Notre Dame over at Dezeen.
