If you set up a tank and turn on the pump the chlorine in the tap water you filled the tank with will dissipate in less than 2 weeks, probably. The conditioners are still a great idea because they add other useful things (like the required bacteria). There's no need to wait 2 months. We only waited a week after treating the water.
