Bookcase Accessible with Bosun's Chair

Sallie Trout designed this bookcase for a house in Austin dubbed the Jackalope Ranch. If I understand the arrangement correctly, she took out a set of stairs and used the hole to create a very tall bookcase. It's accessible with a bosun's chair suspended by a chain from the ceiling. Yes, Andrew. I understand that they chose form over function. They could still have used the chair. It's just typical that the appearance of having books is more important than the books themeslves.

Yes, maybe, but it wouldn't have looked as cool, and that was, I think, the whole point. I mean she used a bosun’s chair instead of what most librarians would use, called a sliding ladder.
