Snow Present in 49 of the 50 U.S. States

Right now there is snow present in 49 of the 50 U.S. states:

After big snow and ice events in the Southeast, Plains, and Midwest this week, 49 out of the 50 states currently have snow on the ground – yes, even Hawaii, where snow falls in Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea all winter.

Thanks a lot, Florida. We almost had a perfect record. But you just had to go and be different, didn’t ya?

We aren't trying to be different, we're just "special."
But there are freeze warnings all the way south of Tampa, so there is still a chance!

I've always wondered if, when the natural temperature cycle of the Earth turns to cooling, the eco-cultists will be demanding more SUVs and yelling "drive you bastards, drive!"

Not that this is the beginning of a cooling trend, but it's fun to imagine the backpeddling and revisionism that will take place.

Only a lack of precipitation kept it from being a full 50. Hard freeze (below 32) last night from below Orlando to the panhandle. My son is in college at Gainesville and they hit > 25 degrees <.

Here just north of West Palm Beach it was 35.

So its not like we weren't trying...

It did snow in Florida in December! There just isn't any currently on the ground. :P Don't worry, with the way it's been south of freezing so frequently this winter, we'll get snow as soon as we get some damn precipitation.
