We No Speak Americano

As a matter of fact, the item should be titled "Tu vuo' fa' l'ammericano", which is the title of the hugely popuplar Italian song (actually sung in Neapolitan dialect) from the '50s which was sampled and mangled for this video.

The lyrics, should you be interested, are about a post-war teen trying to act like the people he's watching in Hollywood movies and making a fool of himself, because after all he has a strong heritage which can't be shaken off like that. And Americans turn out to be quite vain and stupid people, compared to a millennial culture like the Italian one.

If you ever seen a little black kid in Milwaukee with a nickel in one hand, fist with the other and a plastic/fiberglass lunch room table... Then you would see the realness. Yes... Live Drum and Bass, any freakin beat you can imagine and their own too.

@Betta

This version of the song is called We No Speak Americano by Yolanda be Cool. The group that sampled the original song are aware that at no point do the lyrics ever say anything along the lines of "we no speak Americano", but while this version may not be for everyone, that's what the track is called.

It seems that the Neatoramabot is being triggered for around 80% of the comments I make, no matter how tame. Even if it's only a couple of words long.

Seriously, what's the deal?

Cool video.

I was expecting him to tweak her boob at one point, but it never happened.

Betta, it's easier to shake off a heritage than you think.

Yea, fantastically smart people. Cast in point: the incredibly great decision to ally with the Nazis.
