Guitar Frets Tattoo

Guitarist Cedric Paul Mamuri wanted to remember which notes to play on his guitar. So, naturally, he had them tattooed on his arm.

Reminds me of the story of Dustin Hoffman and Laurence Oliver on the set of Marathon Man. In this one particular scene ("Is it safe?") Hoffman's character is meant to have been awake for days without a shower. So Hoffman decided to stay awake for days without a shower before shooting the scene. Oliver, hearing this - and no doubt put off by the younger man's odor - asked him, "Tell me son, have you ever considered ACTING?"

If you love guitar that much you'd think you'd actually try to LEARN how to play it.

If you can't be bothered to learn the basics, I don't think a tattoo is a legitimate solution.

If you have something so basic memorized, why would you want to look like you haven't?

Either way, it's not a choice I can understand without a lot more explanation...

He got all the notes for C major tattooed on himself? I mean, I've seen fretboards tattooed, with crazy headstocks and things. But the notes of a C Major scale? Come on dude.

I hope that guy doesn't gig around any serious musicians. He will now be enduring countless mean words and jokes... for the rest of his life.
