The link made reference to these giant-sized meals being wasteful, but unless I'm missing something, it seems like nearly every time one of these things is made it's for some kind of charity or fundraising event. So if that's true, where's the harm?

Exactly, Noelegy. I'm actually surprised that this post has been up for as long as it has without ten people chiming in in digust about what a waste this is. No matter how often people are told that things like this are for charity, and usually they are, there's always some mention of it being "a waste". The second most popular comment is usually something along the lines of "instant heart attack" or "this is why people are obese".
