Two Ducks from One Egg

The Cornish Duck Company checks its eggs for viable embryos. They noticed one egg had two embryos, and were prepared with a camera when it hatched.
Local vet Barrie Fleming, who advised the farm's owners, Roger Olver and Tanya Dalton, on the hatching, said they had "every reason to be excited by the birth" as it was a very rare occurrence.

Not surprising, though, that there should be confusion between singular and plural in a story like this.

Such are the burdens that the Cornish Duck Factory workers are yoked with every day.

Well, if we're quibbling, Miss C, your first sentence refers to the Cornish Duck Company and its eggs. The second sentence then switches to "they".

Alternately, you could say "The tireless egg-checkers at the Cornish Duck Company", or perhaps "The unsung heroes of the egg inspection line in the Cornish Duck Company".
