Tee Virus: A Nifty New T-Shirt Community

Our good friend Rommel Santor (who coded the Neatorama Upcoming Queue) and Brian "Dag" Houston of VideoSift have just launched a new venture: Tee Virus, an online community where you can create your very own T-shirt design, submit it to the community for feedback, and - if it passes muster - get it printed and sold through the website. Best of all, you'll earn cash with every shirt sold.

I've got my TBIF T-shirt and am happy as a clam with it ;)

Woot! does this also. It seems like none of the shirts I like make it to the final countdown and after that, you have no way of buying that one shirt that didn't make it.

Eh. It seems like just about everyone is making t-shirts nowadays. Not that I'm opposed, but the quality of some just isn't cutting it. I mean, mediocre clip art/vector drawings and some awkwardly placed quote or phrase with typefaces which don't compliment the image are all too common.

Thanks very much for the support Alex and Neatorama fans.

For your info, we didn't set out to compete with Threadless or other similar sites. (In fact, when we got started we honestly didn't even know that such sites already existed.)

We were initially just planning on tacking a small shop onto VideoSift to sell shirts etc. when it occurred to us that we could make such a store but in a much more fun, interactive way. And so Tee Virus was born. :)

The pickin's are slim at the moment because we just launched, but if you are a bit of an artist or just like critiquing other people's artistry, we'd love you to participate. Thanks everyone!

T-shirt communities are nothing new. Threadless is one of the oldest and the biggest, but we're certainly supportive of new ventures by our friends.

I wasn't pressured (or even requested for that matter) to post about Tee Virus. I think it's a neat project by Rommel and Dag, and I certainly wish them well:)
