The World's Largest Cupcake

It was big enough to provide 1,500 servings:

Measuring 12 inches tall and 24 inches wide the cupcake weighed 150.7 pounds and used 15 pounds of fudge filling and 60 pounds of yellow icing.

Makers created the cake as part of celebrations for the SpongeBob SquarePants' 10th anniversary at the Minneapolis Mall of America.

An adjudicator from Guinness World Records was on hand to inspect (and sample) the cake before declaring it the world's largest cupcake.

Technicly the materials are the same, and to me cake is cake. I think the difference is that cupcakes have a raise dome like surface, and are baked in a cup shaped wrapper.

Duff from Charm City Cakes previously had the record and then they TOOK IT AWAY from him due to technicalities. Such a strange world record attempt.

A single 150 pound cupcake makes 1,500 servings??? Not at any party I've been to. I guess I need to go to more supermodel parties where diner is the lemon wedge in the designer water.
