I get at least 4 a day. I'm not kidding.

I hope they got the right number. Crowdsourced revenge can really socially DDOS them, but only if they actually identified the culprit(s). Lucky for them /b/ is down, or they'd be in for some REAL pain.

This must be a Yanq problem. The only phone spam I have had as an Oz munchkin is from little Johnny Coward asking me to vote for him.

Phone solicitors have a really crappy minimum wage job. I'm always super polite to them, using their name as tell them that I have a policy of not accepting calls of this nature. It works almost every time, with no argument. They don't have a response to that on their cheat sheet.
My point is I got my number on the Warranty do not call list by politely asking instead of using threats.

But these calls aren't from people with crappy minimum wage jobs, they are annoying automated calls that never freaking stop.

I hate these calls. Whenever I get one on my cell, I add the number to a contact so I can identify them when they call again. Of course, it's all wishful thinking as the numbers are spoofed and it's never coming from the same one twice. Now I have a very long list of phone numbers that aren't even real in the first place.

I'll be happy when these guys go away.

Oh...and then there's this:

Auto One is David Tabb, 41, a man with a history of dicey consumer practices. Another of Tabb's companies, Hollywood Dreams, was listed at an address next door to Auto One. Hollywood Dreams was a company used as a front for selling sports and Hollywood memorabilia with forged signatures. In 2002 Tabb pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and one count of tax evasion for his part in a scam to sell the forged merchandise. According to the indictment filed in U.S. District Court, Tabb arranged to meet an undercover federal agent at a Chevron gas station in Irvine to sell him basketballs and other sporting items with forged signatures and fake certificates of authenticity. He continued to sell undercover feds forged merchandise, usually in parking lots, over the next year. Tabb did not respond to messages left at his last known home number or Auto One offices.

I stayed on the line and it gave me a "if you wish to be removed from the list press 2". I did and it seems to have stopped -- for now

I did that and I stopped getting one type of autocaller for a new one which never gives up no matter how many times you press 2 to get removed. From now on I always press 1 to talk to a representitive and tell them I will keep pressing 1 until they stop calling.

I got one of those calls a few months ago and I called back, I told them I had just bought a brand new car that month, and based on that I was pretty sure my warranty was NOT expired and wouldn't be for the next 50,000 miles. The caller person just went "Oh. Okay." and I haven't gotten any calls anymore.

I had always wanted to get the waranty on my old 54 renewed as a joke.

so i called the number listed, and i asked if they were interested in a home warranty, now they are calling my phone and hanging up bwahahahahahahhaa

Goodness, this is awesome - I get this call about my "Last" notice at least once a week!

I got "last notices" for a while, and then they stopped, then I got "Second to last notices"...
and now they're back to "last notices" again.

Isnt it sad that you never find these wonderful sites until AFTER you have been defrauded. :(
I thought I was dealing with a legitimate company about the manufacturer's extended warranty...until it was TOO LATE ! I want to take legal action. I do not live in California. Anyone know how to go about that ?
