Hospital Food

Hospital Food is a photo blog to which people submit photographs of hospital meals. The places they come from aren't always identified, but from the looks of things, you want to be hospitalized in France to get a really decent meal. The Asian meals look pretty good, too. Others aren't so appetizing. The meal pictured was served in a Polish hospital. Link -via Buzzfeed

As a Polish-American I'd like to just bridge the gap here and point out that we Polacks roll a little differently than you Americans. That's basically what breakfast looks like in a lot of homes.

here in Ukraine- hospital soup is served out of a metal pail... and it looks like pig slop. Most people have a brigade of family members and friends who pitch in to bring food to hospitalized people.

My neighbor was in the hospital for three weeks. The food was good. She is in a rehabilitation center now. I am going to be posting some of her meals to this site. She is on a low-fat, no greens diet. Her meal was a small burger with lettuce and a side of potato chips.

That plate looks quite nice. A bit of bread and butter, some smoked pork sausage and a pickle.

The only time I've been in hospital was only for one night. The previous occupant of the bed had chosen my meals for me (since I hadn't been there to do it myself, the day before) and I likewise chose the meal for the next occupant.

As you might imagine, this was far from ideal.

When My sister had her baby a month ago she opted to go to the rich hospital (plano Tx) and the food menu was 11 pages long with things like:
Roast Duck
Orange Chicken
New York Strip Steaks

Excellent food. Better then most chain restaurants.
