Peeps in Places Photo Contest

National Geographic is running a photo contest called Peeps in Places. Just take a picture of one or more marshmallow Peeps posing in some travel destination, add them to the Filckr pool, and tag them as "NGTpeeps." Due to enthusiastic response, the original deadline has been extended until Monday, April 13th. Winners get prizes from Nat Geo and Just Born (the maker of Peeps)! Link to contest information. Link to a slideshow of entries.

Gauldar, I was thinking the same thing.

The Peeps in places thing is cute and all, but it just reminded me of a story a friend of ours that owns a B&B in France told us. This woman had broken up with her bf and went to stay there for a long weekend with friends, and brought a gnome to photograph in "places". That woman was so annoying with her stupid gnome that the owner of the B&B hid it in the cellar, giving it back only after the woman ruined dinner for everyone else crying over it.

I love the concept, but I can only imagine how annoying someone getting the pictures might be, so now I'm a bit soured on it.

I hope someone submits a picture of Peeps in front of a big boiling vat of bone and skin (where the gelatin in most marshmallow comes from ...yum!).

Ahhh... another site to succumb to the open season on peeps meme. Be original Neatorama. Molest a chocolate bunny or sumthun'.

I wish I could get Peeps here in the UK. I miss those little buggers.

Marilyn, that's about as enlightened as it gets for me. As DOJ said, why throw them away? When you have the whole animal, you should use the whole animal. :)
