Nine Year Old Boy Carries Friend to Safety

A very brave 9 year old boy carried his friend home after he was injured by a hit-and-run driver in an SUV. This story goes to show that you don't have to be big and strong to be a hero.

Police said the vehicle stopped long enough for someone to get out, remove the bike from underneath the car, and leave the scene. In the meantime, nine-year-old Ruben Nuncio said he threw his injured friend over his shoulder and carried him home.

If you were this boy's son, esu, this boy would be a slut.

I think it's great to see that he helped his friend. I wish there were more stories like this and less stories like that dude in texas who killed the kid who stole twinkies out of his trailer.

I have to agree with esu, despite his/her dubious lineage. Folks tore a strip off that lady for moving a woman out of a car accident.

The story said the SUV was found and owners brought in for questioning. I hope they get a lot of jail time. As someone on the original article said, people in jail aren't too friendly to those that hurt children.

Well, whether or not if moving the kid was write, that is one brave little kid.
And that is seriously screwed up for those people to not even bother to pretend they cared if the boy was ok... they better get thrown in jail and beat down!

Thank you Chandrielle!

Everyone seems to keep forgetting that this kid is 9 years old. 9! He did what he thought was best in his situation, which was to get his friend home, who had just been hit by an SUV to his mom. If I was 9 years old and saw my friend get hit by a car in front of me I probably would have done the same thing.

Yes, we NOW know that moving an injured person is a bad idea. But when you're 9 there's really not much to think about when you're friend has gotten hurt.

There's not enough information to determine whether this was 'stupid heroism' or not. His friend may still have been conscious, or had a movable injury; or possibly there was no one nearby to flag down for help.

The indignation should be towards the hit & run people, and the people who might have seen this kid carrying his injured friend, but failed to stop and help, or even bother to call 911.

Man, this just makes me hate Houston even more. The drivers just seem so mean when I have to go through there.
