I'm sure this is not new to some of you, but I've just learned that besides making pumpkin pie and those delicious roasted pumpkin seeds, pumpkin also makes a good ... canoe!

Thought you might like to know - there's an article in the most recent issue of Downeast magazine about an annual pumpkin boat competition that takes places somewhere in Maine. They get mighty creative with their boats there, I must say.
