Swimming at the edge of Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls is on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It is 360 feet tall. At the top is a natural rock pool, called Devil’s Pool, where the water is relatively calm. From September to December, when the water level is low, you can swim in Devil’s Pool. The pictures are bound to make you just a little nervous. Or a lot. Link (with video) -via Dark Roasted Blend

Take me to the river, but there is no way on this green earth you would get me in that water... all the while it is so freaking cool to look at others hopping in...

I'm outright amazed that googling 'Victoria Falls' (or Devil's Pool) and 'death' didn't result in much at all, one look at those pictures made me sure there had to be a heap of unlucky tourists (or tourist bits) churning away at the bottom of those falls ... yeesh!

those pictures made me shudder with terror but it looks exhilirating at the same time!
...I've only been to Cumberland Falls. Victoria Falls and Cumberland Falls are the only two waterfalls in the world to have moonbows (like rainbows but at night).

I just saw something similar in a recent issue of National Geographic, with an African, not a tourist.

It still gives me chills, but then I'm one of those guys whose palms get sweaty watching a mountain climbing documentary. Heights...shudder...

I think I got nausea just from looking at those pictures. I'd be the one all the way at the other end of the pool, sticking a toe in and then scrambling back up.

Seriously. What if there's a gust of wind? Aaaah...
