Grossest Ear Plugs Ever: Man Cut Own Nipples, Cast 'Em in Resin, Wears 'Em on Ears!

Before I write this post, let me check the date. Yep, too early for April Fool's, so it can only mean that - hands down - it's the grossest plugs ever:

John Blake cut off his nipples, cast them in resin and wears them as plugs in his ears.

ModBlog (which is not for the faint-hearted) has more: Link - Thanks Jase!

it's bad though that when BME does go mainstream, it's always followed by a stream of derogatory or inflammatory comments. at least it isn't posted on ebaumsworld or such a website!

quinnn, totally, it makes me smile every time.

eh, don't try to derogatorily quantify things you don't understand. It just makes you look like a close minded ninconpoop.

just a guy, actually people have reported that the area where the nipples were have become more sensitive to just such stimuli. So in the end, if you want to increase your sexy fun time with your nipply area the best resort might be to remove them.

Grossest ear plugs ever? Perhaps, but quite possibly the best ever! My wisdom teeth are coming out in a few days, I've been contemplating doing the same as this guy did with his nipples.

*waits for this to get mirrored on fark and the endless flood of people who only can be described as filth starts pouring through*

There's a difference between body modification and cutting off your nipples. I will quantify anything I want as I see fit, b/c it turns out that's called freedom of thought. Right now... I'm saying this is absolutely the byproduct of some far more serious psychological malfunction.

If you want to argue that it's not, then why stop at your nipples? Just pull all of your teeth, cut off your toes, have your teeth sewn onto your feet and your toes implanted into your gums. It's all about the freedom to modify your self for improved personal aesthetic, right?

Give me a break.

Jason E, good work reacting like just about anyone who doesn't understand, by resorting to vast exaggerations that hold extremely little attachment in real life.

Cutting off your nipples IS a body modification any way you twist it, cutting your hair is also a body modification when it comes down to it.

"I’m saying this is absolutely the byproduct of some far more serious psychological malfunction."

Which you base on exactly what? Do you know this person? Do you know the reasons why he chose to have his nipples removed? Do you have much (or any) insight into the bodmod community? In other words, you seem like an armchair psychologist who thinks he knows what's going on but in reality is entirely clueless. That's fine, it's sad, but it's fine.

"It’s all about the freedom to modify your self for improved personal aesthetic, right?"

Yes, if our bodies truly belong to us then should we not be allowed to do what we want to them? You speak of freedom of thought but how about freedom of expression? Is this guy hurting anyone (but possibly himself)?

"Give me a break."

Why should I if you don't give us in the bodmod community a break? Give and give alike, no?
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
So let me get this right. You're upset because I am not allowing the "bodmod" community the freedom to express themselves... by cutting parts of their bodies off... like their nipples, and toes, and fingers.

Hey. By all means, cut off whatever you want. You obviously know everything about me, and I know nothing about you.

I'm just saying don't be wimp. Why stop at the nipples. Please... get really extreme. Use your imagination.

"I’m just saying don’t be wimp. Why stop at the nipples. Please… get really extreme. Use your imagination."

Some people do, but I'll leave it with that without starting to name body parts.

Though, suggesting that you implant your toes in your mouth either shows on a widely different humor than mine or a complete lack of how anatomy and human biology works.

It's still interesting how you can psychologically deconstruct a person without knowing said person. While not uncommon it extremely seldomly hits anywhere close to the target.

But no, I am not upset in the slightest, don't confuse passion with upset.

It's not very difficult to determine a persons cognitive ability without know much about him. For instance, you decided in your first post that I have no background in psychology. Which is incorrect. You also guessed that I have no exposure to what you call the "bodmod" community. Also incorrect.

Look. Psychology in general is about what the general populace agrees on. Sanity is defined by the majority. (Like most things.) Cutting off your nipples for "modification" may be within your personal freedoms, but it doesn't make it sane. (Doesn't make it insane either)

Your rebuttals have been based on me being ignorant to a science and a culture. You are wrong on both counts. I hope, for your sake, you find another way to attach value to yourself aside from removing parts of your body.

PS. I'm glad that you are not upset. Also, I won't confuse noun with adjective.

To be picky, it was my second post, and I did say that you "seem" like, not that you "are". I didn't jump to conclusions, I asked you a few questions. If you have a background in psychology truly you can understand the danger with so called "armchair psychologists" and why one should not make various conclusions only from a person's acting, especially so if you don't know said person. Wouldn't you agree?

Also, I did not say you had no exposure to the bodmod community, I asked if you had any insight. Insight and exposure are two different things. Everyone has exposure to some degree, but few have insight.

I implore you not to put words into my mouth saying I said something when in reality I said something else, saying I accused (more or less) of lacking insight when I actually asked you if you had any.

"Your rebuttals have been based on me being ignorant to a science and a culture."

...and you have done nothing to prove the opposite either, until now.

"I hope, for your sake, you find another way to attach value to yourself aside from removing parts of your body."

Not trying to put you down, but I find that sentence laughable (and honestly a bit insulting). Again you try to attach words or actions to my person. I have never lopped off anything from my body, nor do I have an urge to, but I am otherwise heavily involved in the bodmod community. My perticular choice involves suspensions, which I'm sure you have something to say about as well.

You're right that sanity is (for better or worse) defined by the majority, however judging someone because of what he chooses to wear, his piercings, his tattoos or possibly his lack of nipples is awfully close to something else. We stopped (or at least officially stopped) judging people by the color of their skin some time ago so why should this be any different? Are these people so very different that they deserve to be treated differently? Is it because it's volontary or because it breaks social stigmas, or what could it be?

I've asked a whole bunch of questions which you've thoroughly evaded answering, it would be nice to see what you really think about freedom of expression and to hear what kind of exposure you've had if you have the time. I mean, instead of hearing more rash conclusions about either me or the person sans nipples. Personally I believe that we, in today's society, attach far too many things to psychological malfunctions of one sort or grader or another. It's like it's hard for people to grasp that one can do someething like this and still be the most normal person in the world in every other aspect, that he's just like one of you guys, of us.

Say what you want. Do what you want. Cutting your nipples off and sticking them in your ear is ridiculous. You can just be right, okay? I'm bored with this.

Now i remember why i stopped googleing my own name. it seems like the internet gave everyone a voice and the majority of those people want to use it to be mean about what they are scared of (And that must be alot, if you wont even use your real name to make posts).
..Anyway, Read books, stay drug free.

John Blake.

It's a good thing you must register to post comments on modblog, there's always one or more people who can't resist the urge to flame on those kind of things... why can't people just shut up when they don't agree with something that doesn't do any bad to anyone?

ted: positive points? the guy is happy without his nipples, and he has badass plugs. that does it for me ;)
now bring the negative points, other than it grosses you out.

Ah, nothing better than watching a couple of angry people have a totally pointless argument and yell at each other across the internets. The deepest thought I had on this subject, however, was A. that it was kind of yucky but not as bad as the forked penises and B. that the nipples looked like pepperoni.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
Actually, I am registered to comment on this website.
Also, I do use my real name.
Lastly, this is the comment section. I was not making incindiary remarks. All I said was that, from my perspective, this person seems to have some sort of mental mis-fire. It's just my opinion. I was later insulted for that opinion, and I tried to defend it. Once I realized I was being flamed, I simply stopped.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
Ars anima: I hope you weren't saying that I was flaming.

I did see a lot of people expressing their opinions, and they don't seem unreasonable. They're entitled to their points of view. Just telling them to shutup is kinda rude.

If we were to call in the fire inspector, I think he (or she) would say the flames started in your general vicinity, ars anima.

Don't bother trying to draw me into the fray. If you can't see what's so colossally stupid about cutting off your nipples, I doubt anything I could say would convince you otherwise.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
"Once I realized I was being flamed, I simply stopped."

Yes, because it's easier to dismiss something as "oh, he's just flaming me" instead of actually realising that the person is entirely sincere and hoped for a discussion on the subject. Each to his own, but I assure you that regardless of what you may think flaming was the last thing I had in mind.

"If you can’t see what’s so colossally stupid about cutting off your nipples, I doubt anything I could say would convince you otherwise."

If you can't see what's so colossally wonderful about cutting off your nipples, I doubt anything I could say would convince you otherwise. :P
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
Exactly my point. You'll just go on and on, trying to get the last word in, trying to convince us that abusing your body horrendously is normal.

Why bother?

All the best.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
Well, "horrendously" is a matter of taste, so I won't adress that.

However, if we see historically, over the course of human existance, body modification has been the norm. It's mainly over the last couple of hundred of years (aside from a few isolated occurances where it's been popular) that we in the western world have shunned away from it. So whether it's "normal" or not entirely depends on how you look at it. One could even in the greater spectrum of time consider this period of "unmodification" a fad and we're now slowly returning to the norm.

Why bother? If you're passionate about something (something to deal with human rights no less) do you just sit idly by when people are slagging it?
