9 Volt Lamp

The 9 volt battery lamp is artist Richard Lawson's entry and winner of last year's lighting company Mathmos' design competition.

The lamp mirrors the form of its power source, a standard 9 volt battery, which it simply clips on to. Stand it up and it lights up; lie it down and it switches off. Each lamp comes with a Duracell battery promising 70 hours of light.

Oy, 26 bucks for one? I though it'd be neat to have 20 or so around the yard during evening barbecues (better than tiki torches) but that's a little expensive.
