Tar Teddy Bear

What do you get when you dip a perfectly cuddly Teddy Bear into a pit of tar?

Artist Mattia Biagi has the answer - it is art. This one to the left is titled Tarorsetto.

i don't mind the idea of dunking a banal object into tar, but this guy's web site... i mean, i sometimes like process work like this, but this is an effing art gimmick with this fellow. "what else can i dunk in tar?!?!" (also, look at the picture of himself on the site too. give me a break). anyways... yes, i enojy the look of the bear. i also enjoyed Kathyrn Spence's sad, droopy mud bears from back around 2000 too, or Roxy Paine's dunked-over-and-over again paintings. but i think his guy's 15 minutes are up.

I'm afraid I've got to agree with matt. This guy is a rebel without a cause, not to mention an artist without expression or (at the very least) articulacy.
