Archer Quotes Work Really Well With James Bond Stills

Sterling Archer can't even dream of being as good as James Bond at the secret agenting game, but that doesn't stop him from trying to channel that 007 vibe every day of his life.

And while Bond has definitely made some bold and memorable statements in his films, Archer has a way with words that tends to make people say "Wow, did he really just say that?".

But pretend like Archer's words are being said by James Bond and you've shaken up those fictional espionage films we all know and love in comedic style.

Basically it turns Bond into a doubly drunk, somehow slightly less lecherous, more conceited and a whole lot more idiotic version of 007...with a butler, and a lemur named Reggie.

The Hastily Produced History Of The Ashcan Copy

An "ashcan copy" is the entertainment industry equivalent of "calling dibs" on a franchise by slapping together a crappy, low budget production simply so they can prove they own the rights.

The practice of creating ashcan copies began in the Golden Age of comics, when publishers would slap together a few copies of a comic in order to retain rights to use characters, titles, etc. by proving they're doing something with it.

This proof of use has become increasingly valuable in Hollywood, where licenses are hoarded by big companies even if they don't actually intend to create a show based on the franchise.

Recently, a low budget TV adaptation of Robert Jordan's fantasy classic The Wheel Of Time aired late at night on FXX, which amounted to half an hour of awfulness hastily created to prove ownership of rights.

Here it is complete with commercials:

It's unclear when the first ashcan copy of a movie or TV show was made, but this practice dates back to at least 1966, when producer Bill Snyder teamed up with animation director Gene Deitch to secure the rights to J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit:

Scary Good Photographic Recreations Of Bosch Paintings

The surreal, and often nightmarish, scenes featured in Hieronymus Bosch's paintings, such as The Last Judgment or The Garden Of Earthly Delights, are still seen as some of the most terrifying visions of Hell on Earth ever illustrated.

Bosch's unique take on that demonic look has influenced artists for centuries, but few photographers have ever tackled the difficult task of bringing these characters to life quite like Lori Pond.

Lori lets the Bosch influence shine through in her photos without allowing the literal translations to dull the character's edge, because they're supposed to be mysterious and bizarre beings after all.

But what's truly surprising about Lori's images is the fact that they're only a tad digitally enhanced:

“I hired a prosthetics designer to create the iconic ‘Bosch snout’ and legs and tail in one image, and a propmaster to make the life-size boat in Bosch Redux 4.0. My taxidermy teacher gave me some crows’ feet, and I got my friends not only to model for me, but also to help with the prop building, wardrobe, and makeup that went into every image. Most resulting photographs are made in camera, apart from some exceptions when I didn’t want to string up a woman in a harp or couldn’t find ears or birds bigger than a human.”

Friday The 13th - Smokey And The Slasher

Friday The 13th by Qetza

When Cube and Tucker agreed to make another Friday movie they had no idea that the director was thinking of taking the series in a whole new direction by setting the film on a dark and stormy Friday the 13th. They started running lines and breaking the ice with the other actors, but Chris was starting to get paranoid about the lack of funny looking supporting characters and nervous about the buckets of blood they kept wheeling in. Cube told Smokey to lay off the joints, but Chris couldn't shake that scared feeling, which turned in to a full blown freakout when he saw Jason Voorhees walk onto the lot...

Fourteen Prank Pics To Get You In The Mood For Some Trickery

(Image Link)

Prankery can turn a dreary winters day into a hysterical chuckle fest full of sneaky tricks and impish laughter, and although the target of the prank may not appreciate the joke everybody else usually gets a good laugh out of it all.

(Image Link)

However,  it's important to keep your pranking within acceptable boundaries, to avoid causing bodily harm or emotional pain, but that still leaves lots of room to mess with people's minds.

(Image Link)

And if you simply can't find a new way to prank 'em all you can always go with a tried and true standard in the world of pranking- attaching an air horn to a toilet seat.

(Image Link)

Of course, you may want to conceal the air horn a bit better than this person did because you know what they say about paybacks...

Ten Priceless Facts About Antiques Roadshow

If you don't care about precious objects from our past you'll see the Antiques Roadshow as dull and uninteresting, but those who enjoy hearing about how cool old stuff was made and why that stuff is so valuable today find every episode to be priceless.

Many fans in the U.S. have been watching the show from the very beginning, because the American version began in 1997, but the UK version started the craze way back in 1979.

People line up by the hundreds when the Antiques Roadshow comes to town hoping their "valuable" stuff lands them a spot on the show, but only about 0.2 percent of the hopeful make it on the air.

Those who have been lucky enough to land a spot have struck it rich more than a few times, but an Oklahoma man's 18th-century Chinese cups still top the list as highest appraisal ever, the cups worth around $1.5 million.

The 8 Different Types Of Star Wars Fans

There have been Star Wars fans as long as I've been alive, and yet growing up as part of the nerd tribe means being introduced to all the different kinds of Star Wars fans that exist within this franchise centric fan base.

I've always considered myself to be a bit of a casual fan, I've played all the video games and a few editions of the tabletop roleplaying game but I don't know the name of every alien race or which planet every character calls home.

But according to this comic strip created by Andy Kluthe for Dorkly I'm actually an Original Trilogy Purist with a bit of an Extended Canon-ites streak when we're in the middle of an Edge Of The Empire campaign.

Couple Find Strange Black "Walking" Fish In New Zealand Bay

People come across odd animals all the time, posting the photographic evidence online and sparking a wave of discussion about what the heck that animal in the pic actually is.

Most of the time these critters end up being nothing more than deformed or otherwise genetically defective, but sometimes their discovery is actually an important biological breakthrough.

A couple in New Zealand found a strange black fish while snorkeling in the Bay of Islands near Auckland, the fish seemingly "walking" along the ocean floor.

They caught the fish and sent it to researcher Andrew Stewart from the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa so he could study it and tell them what they'd found.

Andrew came to the conclusion that the bizarre black fish is actually a rare variation of the striated frogfish, but Andrew was amazed by the fish's jet black coloration considering they're normally brightly colored and boldly striped.

Now the black sheep of the frogfish world is part of the Te Papa collection, where they'll study it to discover whether the black coloration is an evolutionary adaptation or merely a mutation.

How To Keep Your Cool After Bombing Your Trumpet Recital

P.T. Barnum is quoted as saying "Always leave them wanting more"- when you have the audience wrapped around your finger and dying to see what you're going to do next you should bow, say thanks and split.

But this motto can also be applied to performers who are bombing, because if they can do something to win the audience back before exiting the stage the crowd will go wild.

The kid in this video may have just moonwalked his way into the hearts of America, and I've never seen somebody turn the crowd's attitude around so quickly after bombing so badly! Maybe he should try his hand at stand up comedy?

Quentin Tarantino Confirms His Movies All Exist In The Same Universe

The characters in Quentin Tarantino's movies feel like part of the same universe, and whether the storyline takes place in the past or present certain key elements seem eerily similar in all of his films.

Tarantino also likes to include unifying elements that are obviously meant to be, like the Big Kahuna Burger or having a Vega brother in both Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, all leading to the unified Tarantino universe fan theory.

Quentin finally revealed the fan theory to be true during a recent interview on The Project, confirming that his movies all take place in the same cinematic universe, well, two universes to be precise.

(YouTube Link)

There's the "realer than real" universe, which is where all the characters live, and then there's the "movie" universe within the "realer" universe that serves as entertainment for the characters.

Which is why Uma Thurman's "realer" character in Pulp Fiction describes the plot to Kill Bill to Vincent Vega when talking about her favorite TV show Fox Force Five...is your brain smoking yet?

Two Tough Lizards Take Their Scrap To The Street

Lizard gangs like to take their rumbles right to the middle of the street, so all the wimpy humans watching the fight will see how tough they are and leave them alone.

But only one lizard gang lord can rule the block, and as this video shows it can take quite a while for the king lizard to come out on top!

(YouTube Link)

Sadly, this epic battle was ignored by virtually every human who passed by, but the guy who decided to capture the whole thing on video is now under the protection of the South Side Saurians.

Sparky - Dog Of The Dead

Sparky by PsychoDelicia

We like to keep our pets close to our hearts, whether they're alive or dead or both, but we can't exactly shrink them down and carry them around in our front pocket, now can we? Well, maybe with a little Frankenstein inspired ingenuity we can create a holding device on our shirts that actually expands to hold an animal of any size, from the largest mastiff to the smallest weenie dog. But then we'd have to build a metal Franken-brace for our backs, and before you know it we'd become a bunch of tin suit wearing freaks clomping around town scaring kids for the sake of keeping our dogs close....wait, that sounds kinda cool!

Spark some animated conversations with this Sparky t-shirt by PsychoDelicia, it's the most adorable way to take your love of Tim Burton with you wherever you go!

Horror Night Off by DinoMike

Life can't be all scares, screams and slashing, sometimes you've gotta just get together with some ghoul friends and hit the road on your bike! Jason was the first to embrace the fun loving bicyclists lifestyle, biking his worries away between kills, and when Chucky saw him riding around Crystal Lake he felt left out of the fun so he hitched a ride. Freddy had always dreamed of racing in the Tour De France before he was burned alive, but he couldn't get his claws on a bike so he just hopped on and rode along with Jason and Chuck. But how did Ghostface get involved in this joyride? He's the only real human in the bunch so he was afraid to say no to the big guy, Good Guy doll and the guy with the melted face lest they cancel the rest of his sequels...
