Kat Dennings Is The Queen Of Hilarious Tweets

Kat Dennings is one of my favorite famous people, and not just because she's drop dead gorgeous and wickedly funny.

Okay, so one of those two things does influence my opinion of her quite a bit- the funny.

Kat has a unique sense of humor which she loves to share with the world via her Twitter and Instagram accounts, and if you think a star can't achieve her level of fame and still remain humble read one of her silly tweets.

There's no way the Kim K.s and Gwyneths of the world would ever let themselves be as free as Miss Dennings with their social media posts, mostly because they have people posting for them.

Kat Dennings, on the other hand, does alll the quipping and the posting for herself, so reading her tweets is like peeking through her window and watching a famous person totally winning at life.

Owners Watch Their House Burn To The Ground On Their iPhone

People install a home security camera system to make themselves feel safer, and nowadays these systems are viewable from a tablet or smartphone, so you can watch your house at all times.

But this power to visually lord over your home kingdom can be a curse too, because the same cameras that film burglars in the act stare blankly as your house burns down around them.

The home featured in this video shared by Storyful News fell victim to the Fort McMurray wildfire, and the owners were able to watch the whole fiery scene unfold on their iPhone, that is, until the smoke blocked the view...Ain't modern technology grand?

Alanis Morissette Updates Her Hit Song "Isn't It Ironic?" For The Digital Age

Isn't it ironic that Alanis Morissette's hit song "Isn't It Ironic?" isn't actually about irony at all, but rather coincidence or happenstance? I guess "Isn't It Happenstance?" didn't have the same ring to it.

Twenty years ago "Isn't It Ironic?" made Miss Morissette a household name, and nowadays she has a pretty good sense of humor about the silly pop song that earned her millions of fans.

But a lot has happened in the last twenty years, so when Alanis needed lyrics for an updated version of her song she turned to James Corden for help encapsulating the ironies of the modern age.

I definitely relate to these updated lyrics!

The True Origin Of Cthulhu

Most fans believe H.P. Lovecraft drew inspiration for the Cthulhu mythos from a variety of sources- Science fiction and mythological beings as the physical inspiration for the creatures, cosmic indifferentism and nihilism as the philosophical influence behind the stories, and horror the plot vehicle that drives the terror home.

Whelp, looks like we were wrong! Thanks for setting us straight Ethan Vincent of Oppressive Silence!

CEO Snoozes At The Office, Employees Work Overtime Photoshopping Him

Folks, you've gotta learn from the mistakes of others in this internet heavy age, and one of the lessons we've learned is don't fall asleep at work or your fellow employees will Photoshop you.

Now it seems like this rule shouldn't apply to the company CEO, because employees who mess with the boss will soon find themselves without a job or a reference.

But it appears some CEOs are actually cool enough to handle some digital degredation, as long as the employees use the company's own app to mess with their image.

Zeev Farbman, CEO of software company Lightricks, was in his office catching a few z's between meetings when someone snapped a pic of him snoozing.

Seeing the opportunity to "test" their image manipulation app Enlight and poke fun at the boss at the same time, the employees set about "Enlightening" the pic in glorious ways.

Next thing you know Zeev was posing for portrait artists, dancing with the Bolshoi and starting a new life as an overpriced Shake Weight. How cool is that?!

Spectacular Retro Pin-Up Style Artwork By Valery Barykin

Russian artists seem to be coming out of the woodwork online lately, but the difference between the Russian art boom and others is most of the stuff they're posting online is really good.

Whether digital, traditional or experimental, the new wave of Russian artists love to pay homage to their sources of inspiration while pushing their chosen medium forward.

If you're a fan of classic pin-up art, retro advertising or old school Rockwell style realism you'll adore the cool and colorful artwork that springs from the mind of Valery Barykin.

Valery's wonderful illustrations are a bit naughty at times but never too risqué, manage to contain modern devices and such without losing their classic appeal, and the colors and contours are always easy on the eyes.

Timothy Olyphant's Masterclass On Stage Vs. Screen Acting

To say an actor is an actor no matter which stage they're on is discounting the different set of skills needed to act on a stage rather than on a set.

Stage actors must emote, project their voices and move about the space so the audience can see what they're supposed to on stage, and they don't have a hundred takes to get it right.

Get the difference? If not, consult this clip from Conan where screen actor/master thespian Timothy Olyphant demonstrates the different in a most peculiar way. (Barely NSFW due to language)

Guy Straps Himself Into Falling Helicopter To Prove Neil deGrasse Tyson Wrong

People who question or disagree with a scientific theory often have a hard time proving the theory is wrong, and if they want their proof to resonate with the internet community they must put the proof on video.

So when Destin Sandlin, host of SmarterEveryDay, took issue with a Tweet sent by Neil deGrasse Tyson claiming “A helicopter whose engine fails is a brick” he knew he'd actually have to ride in a falling 'copter to debunk the theory.

Strapping yourself into a falling helicopter to prove it can be landed safely using physics is both sheer lunacy and the most thrilling scientific theory debunking ever caught on video.

Model And Competitive Eater Devours 50 Krispy Kreme Donuts

Krispy Kreme donuts are good and all, but eating more than a half dozen in a sitting seems like it would send your system into sugar shock.

Heck, eating half a dozen makes me feel like a total pig, and a dozen would probably put me in a sucrose-related coma, so devouring 50 donuts seems like a one-way ticket to the afterlife.

But model and competitive eater Nela Zisser stared donut-induced death in the face and did the seemingly impossible, devouring 50 Krispy Kreme glazed donuts all while maintaining her modelesque figure.

I can't imagine how someone can scarf down 9,500 calories worth of sugary fried food and still maintain this figure:

Michael MacRae Tells Dark And Fantastic Tales With His Artwork

Artists who choose to infuse their works with genre specific imagery tend to get stuck in one style of art, such as horror or science fiction, but painter Michael MacRae is different.

His mind is full of stories that he prefers to tell with his paintings, and those stories, while often dark and full of fantastic imagery, can't be constrained to a particular genre.

Michael's paintings invite us to stay a while and figure out what's going on in each scene, and as we invent answers we write our own version of Michael's dark fantasy tales in our minds.

All The Cards You'll Encounter At A Baseball Game

When you head to a baseball game this summer and fall you're going to see all kinds of peanuts and cracker jacks in the stands who'll make you feel like you've unwittingly joined the cast of the Major League reboot.

If you encounter the Overzealous Wave-Starter you should shield your eyes, because she might jump up at any time and you may get slapped. But at least she's not wasted and annoying like Mr. Just Here For The Beer.

Illustrator Kevin Valente has done a great job of capturing the spirit of baseball season by giving us the vital stats on all the fans we'll have to contend with in the stands, like these for old man I Remember When:

Stats:
Times per inning he calls the umpire a “bum”: 7
Fond memories per game: 14
Stories about the past: 21
Stories that start with “In my day…”: 19
Percentage of those stories you’ve already heard before: 95%

Chris Evans Is Caught Staring At Boobs, Gets Heroically Photoshopped

Chris Evans has proven he's a good guy by giving to charity, making himself to available to fans at conventions and on social media, and making videos for sick fans to show his support.

But Chris is also a warm blooded male, and his love of the ladies is no secret, so when he is presented with a chance to peek at cleavage he takes it.

Only Chris's peek was a full blown stare captured in a photo that made it online, where it was instantly subject to digital modification by the Photoshop gods, who deemed his stare hilarious.

He tried to justify his stare by claiming he saw a chestburster about to emerge and kill them all.

But his fellow Marvel movie stars weren't buying his story, and they weren't too happy about his lascivious conduct either.

And then Travolta came along and made the whole situation even more awkward, which just happens to be the superpower he was granted by the Church of Scientology.

People who are proud of their age and choose to look natural rather than dyeing, painting or otherwise concealing the true story their naturally aged head tells the world deserve our respect.

But it's natural for women who grew up wearing makeup every day to miss getting all dolled up when they stop painting their faces, like when they go off to live in a nursing home.

That's when they call in the Cover Girl calvary to give them a makeover and help them feel young again, and lucky for 80-year-old grandma Livia her granddaughter Tea Flego is a talented makeup artist.

Tea came to her grandma's rescue and used contouring makeup techniques to make Livia look years younger, and while she expected to make her grandma feel better about herself she didn't expect to make her internet famous.
