There's Now a Tinder for Dogs

Is your dog feeling a bit lonely? Is he looking for casual fun with ladies nearby? What about you? Perhaps there's a nice dog owner out there. Just swipe right.

Tindog is a new dating app. Download it, add a photo of your pup and a few personal details (likes, dislikes) and start looking for a match. It's not a way to find a soulmate. But it may be a great way to have a canine playdate.

P.S. Cat owners, don't despair. There's a Tinder for cats, too.

Fake Eyelashes Made of Natural Grass

Mary Graham, a design student at Kingston University in London, writes "A product only has to contain 1% natural elements to be labeled as a natural product." So what is truly natural? If you want to use more natural cosmetics, it's necessary to look beyond the label. That's why she made a set of fake eyelashes that are truly and fully natural products. She found the grass in a forest and used eggs and snow to create the adhesive that holds it together. You can see more photos from her series here.

A Dark End for Winnie the Pooh

(Gone to Rapture)

There's a tender line of friendship attributed to the titular character in the Winnie the Pooh stories:

If you live to be 100, I want to live to be 100 minus one day, so I never have to live without you.

Jonathan Crossfield says that it's aprocryphal, which is probably for the best. Christopher Robin needs to find relationships that are less clingy.

His and Hers Toothpaste

Instructables member tomatoskins recently got married. As a result, he’s been on the receiving end of a lot of advice about how to have a happy, trouble-free marriage. He’s been told that one of the challenges of marriage that a couple might fight over the most insignificant issues as they combine households, such as which end of the toothpaste tube to squeeze from.

To head off that problem, tomato skins made a double-headed toothpaste tube. It consists of two toothpaste tubes which have been joined together at the bottom. Now, no matter what end he or his wife squeezes from, it’ll be the right one.

Chipmunk Lightsaber Duel

A long time ago in a forest far, far away, good and evil themselves faced off to determine the fate of an arboreal empire. VidGeo reenacted the great lightsaber duel between Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi at the end of Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith. Except this version features chipmunks, which, as we all know, are unusually Force-sensitive.

The Abandoned Church That Looks Like a Clucking Chicken Deep in an Indonesian Jungle

(Photo: Alek Kurniawan)

Many years ago, Daniel Alamsjah of Jakarta experienced a mystical vision. He saw a dove with its beak open, as though it were chirping. In 1989, while traveling hundreds of miles away in central Java, he saw a section of jungle that looked exactly like the landscape surrounding the dove in his vision. He realized that this was the place where God wanted him to build a church.

So he did. Amalsjah built his church in the shape of a dove where for several years it served as a rehabilitation center for drug addicts and troubled youth.

The project was never completely finished, but local residents are familiar with the Gereja Ayam—the Chicken Church, as they have named it. It attracts many sightseers, as well as pilgrims of many faiths who visit it. You can see more photos of the Chicken Church at the Daily Mail.

10 Types of Mexican Tacos That Should Be More Popular in the US

(Photo: Romero y Azahar)

Bill Esparza is a food critic and taco scholar in Los Angeles. He says, “I’ve tried tacos in 27 states in Mexico, and every time I go to a new town I see something I’ve never heard of.” The vast variety of regional food traditions in Mexico offer more options that most Americans are familiar with. He’s narrowed his essential list of tacos down to 10.

Among those 10 is this temptation: the bone marrow taco. Esparza writes:

In the state of Nuevo Leon, one of Mexico’s steak capitals, you can get roasted marrow bones and a stack of tortillas for making your own tacos. These have become a trend at fine dining Mexican restaurants in Baja California and Mexico City, following in the footsteps of the great chefs of Monterrey, Nuevo León. If you’ve ever indulged in a hot tortilla slathered with a little butter, this is a whole other level of richness. The marrow gives it a concentrated flavor of seasoned, buttery beef. It’s a simple and powerful taste requiring a quality corn tortilla.

Marvel Superheroes Reimagined as Dogs

Iron Man

The more beloved and visible pop culture characters are, the more we seem to see creatives invent variations of them. Here, illustrator Josh Lynch has created a series of Marvel superheroes presented as dogs. It's certainly a fun study, since matching the dog breed to the character is a large part of the exercise.

See more of these illustrations here and at Lynch's website. How do you think Lynch did with matching the character to the breed and overall feel of the illustration?

Classic Pinups as Disney Princesses

There are a lot of mashups featuring Disney princesses out there, but if you're a fan of the legendary pinup art of Gil Elvgren as well as Disney's lovely ladies, then you'll love these new mashups by DeviantArtist KittRen.

Her artwork features both new and old princesses and does an excellent job maintaining the style of Elvgren while adding the iconic details of the princesses we know and love. Be sure to visit KittRen's portfolio to see the whole series.

9 Characters That Were Kicked Off Sesame Street

Sesame Street seems like the kind of place where a puppet is free to be a puppet, and the fleece skinned characters that live there seem extremely tolerant of all puppetkind, but some puppets are just no darn good.

They’re the unwanted denizens of Sesame Street, the characters who were removed from the show due to dullness, bad behavior or because their foam forms began to disintegrate after years of use.

But bad puppets aren’t the only ones who have been cut from the cast of Sesame Street, a few human offenders have been fired to hammer home a point about following the rules.

Here's a classic mental_floss article about 9 Muppets Kicked Off Sesame Street, revealing why so many puppets were getting unemployment checks in the 1970s.

A Sign That Something Is Lost In Translation

We all know how easy it is for things to get lost in translation, and when people place a courtesy translation on a sign they generally shoot for good enough.

But what if said sign was put up to tell people what not to do, and it ends up congratulating them for urinating in the pool?

(Image Link)

Walking across the lawn is frowned upon in many places, but thanks to this mistranslated(?) sign we now know why people get so defensive about their lawns-they’re protecting the sleeping baby grass.

(Image Link)

And when a sign contains an epic level mistranslation the warning disappears, leaving behind nothing but words to live by.

Dad Builds Spectacular Mario Kart 8 Nursery

YouTube Link

Feast your eyes on this great Mario Kart 8 nursery that dad, Nintendo fanatic and Redditor troymcklure built for his baby boy, Grant. The Mario driving on the ceiling was created with a handmade silicone mold and lit with remote-controlled LED lighting. Mario's ride is chasing 3D-printed gold coins that hang from the ceiling, mobile-style. The nursery cost approximately $1,500 to build and took about a year and a half to complete.

See this clever DIY dad's previous project, a Yoshi's island nursery, in the video below. Watch him explain his DIY projects on YouTube channel geeksmithing. Via Daily Dot

The Soothing Sound Of Ten Cats Eating In Harmony

Animals spend much of their days thinking with their stomachs, and pet owners know that their furry friends aren’t shy about telling them when it’s time to eat.

But the time our pets spend eating is pure bliss, and as long as they don’t have behavioral issues connected to mealtime the household pets tend to dine in harmony.

(YouTube Link)

This video shows Nine Cats and kitten Osamu, the newest addition to the family, dining in pure bliss as one purr-fect munching unit.

As you can imagine this production took an expert sense of timing and some serious cat wrangling skills to get the coordinated chowing down to look just right.
