A Tom Hanks Biopic Starring Captain Sully Sullenberger

When word spread that a movie would be made about the day Captain Sully Sullenberger saved a plane full of people by making a miraculous emergency landing on the Hudson people were like “What?”

Even Sully himself wondered why they would make such a movie, but then he heard Tom Hanks hired on to play the role so he stopped objecting and got on board with the project, stating "If Tom's in then whatevs".

And now that Sully is out in theaters Captain Sullenberger finally got to play the role of a lifetime on Jimmy Kimmel Live!- Tom Hanks.

The Impossible Dungeons & Dragons Quest

It can be hard to serve as gamemaster and maintain your friendship with the players in your tabletop roleplaying group, because gamers take character death very seriously.

They also get pissed off if you don't award them enough experience points, give them enough magic items, or if you keep rolling really high for enemies.

But, as this Is It Canon comic by Rock Paper Cynic and Big Simple Comics shows, there's one quest which will defeat even the most experienced role players and make your group hate you at the same time- trial by noob.

How Hollywood's Sex Scenes Are Made

Sex scenes are an integral part of the Hollywood movie experience, and these titillating scenes are constructed to make audiences aroused and keep them coming back for more.

In fact, audiences are often disappointed when they see a Hollywood movie that doesn't include a sex scene, so filmmakers feel obligated to include sexiness in every movie they make.

Which is why Hollywood filmmakers become students of scopophilia, mastering the craft of visual stimulation.

As you can see in this video by The Film Theorists Hollywood filmmakers have sex appeal down to a science, so it's not our fault sex scenes turn us on, because Hollywood has been perfecting them for over 80 years.

These Pinball Machines Really Rock

Pinball may have lacked a soundtrack back in the 40s and 50s, but by the 70s and 80s pinball machines were imbued with the power of rock 'n' roll, catering to the player's preferred genre of music.

Groups like KISS, the Rolling Stones, AC/DC and Metallica have all lent their likenesses, and their music, to pinball machines so their rocker fans can worship the rock gods while hanging at the arcade.

Some of those rock gods have been featured on multiple pinball machines virtually spanning their career, although the later games are often so bad they make a grown man cry.

But the fact that rock bands actually have their own machines, which actually play their music, seems pretty cool to an arcade lovin' 80s kid like me.

And many of those rock 'n' roll machines let the whole arcade know how cool you are every time you got a multiball by blasting a blistering track as a reward for being a prime pinballer.

Strange Insults From Around The World

Most travelers like to learn a few phrases in the language spoken in the country they're about to visit, in case they need to find a hotel, food or the bathroom in a hurry.

But experienced travelers also pack an insult or two in the native tongue for the trip ahead, because you never know when some "dog baby" is going to push you over the edge...

Travel blog Just The Flight put together this full color guide to colorful, and extremely insulting, phrases from around the world, so you can memorize a few new ways to speak your mind no matter where you are.

The Most Delicious Saxophone Ever Played

Music nourishes the soul, uplifts the spirit and feeds our heads, but only this pancake saxophone can play the breakfast blues and feed a family of five at the same time.

This feast for the eyes and ears dubbed the "stacksophone" was shared by Denny's Diner last year but the concept is timeless, especially if you're thinking about becoming a restaurant-based busker!

Beauty and the Beast in Emoji

(Video Link)

It's a tale as old as time, girl books a room on Airbnb, finds out her host is a roaring monster, she gets attacked by wolves while trying to escape to a Motel 6 and then her beastly host ends up saving her life. Next thing you know, the two are dancing it up and the host shows the girl his extensive e-library. Ok, maybe that's not the most common story in the world, but it does sum up Beauty and the Beast pretty well, which is what we love about Disney's tales told in emoji series of videos.

Black Metal Cats Reveals The Dark Thoughts Of Our Feline Friends

There's no telling what runs through a cat's mind as they sit there staring at humans, but if their facial expression is any indication those thoughts are rarely good.

Which is why the memes shared by the Twitter account Black Metal Cats may actually be a faithful representation of what our feline friends are thinking.

Black Metal Cats masterfully combines lyrics from heavy metal songs with the appropriate cat pictures in order to slash away human sadness with the power of kitteh-style kerrang.

Because combining cats and brutal metal is like firing a furry bazooka at the darkness lurking inside you, so Black Metal Cats are the ultimate weapon in the war against boredom and ennui.

Rey's Jedi Training As Directed By Quentin Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino wasn't asked to direct the Star Wars sequels, and he bluntly stated he had no interest in being involved with anything produced by Disney.

But, as you can see in this video by How It Should Have Ended, a Tarantino-style Star Wars sequel would have been full of that kung fu cool QT is known for, and Uma Thurman as Rey for some reason.

This parody video also shows us why Quentin's version of Star Wars would have flopped at the box office- American audiences hate subtitles!

How Contestants Claim Their Prizes After The Price Is Right

Every episode of The Price Is Right features contestants winning some sort of prize, cash or otherwise, ranging from a small appliance to a new car, but contestants don't receive their prizes on camera.

So how do contestants claim their prizes after the show?

According to former contestant Aurora De Lucia, who won camcorders and a Chevy Cruze LS on the show in March of 2013, winners are immediately sent to a “winners room” backstage to sign paperwork.

(Image Link)

The camcorders were shipped to Aurora's house from the vendor, but she had to go pick the car up from the dealership after the show's producers made arrangements which, as stated in the contract, could take up to 90 days.

Aurora had to pay $2067 in sales tax for the car, as well as federal taxes on all her prizes, since they're considered income, and California's income tax of 8 percent before she could take possession of the car.

In total she had to pay around $9000 for a $20,000 car, which isn't a bad deal overall but is a hell of a lot more money than most Price Is Right contestants expect to pay when they go on the show.

The Time Pablo Escobar And His Family Went To Walt Disney World

(Image Link)

There's one funny thing about notoriously dangerous and evil men like Pablo Escobar- they look silly doing normal things, and utterly ridiculous when they go to happy places like theme parks.

But Pablo wasn't just a murderer and drug kingpin- he was a daddy, so when his kids wanted to go to Walt Disney World he begrudgingly complied, although he refused to be happy about the trip.

These pics of Pablo and the fam at Walt Disney World were taken in 1981, when he had yet to be outed as a drug lord and still felt relatively safe traveling, although his bodyguards did accompany him on this trip.

Pablo was obviously a fan of theme parks, since he turned his Colombian ranch Hacienda Nápoles into an amusement park of sorts, with three zoos full of exotic animals, 27 lakes, a go-kart track and a mechanical bull.

But even though Hacienda Nápoles was full of fun and amazing stuff for a kid to do Pablo's son Juan Pablo had to take a trip to Orlando to meet his favorite cartoon star Mickey Mouse.

Sure anyone could dress as Winona Ryder's character in Stranger Things, but if you really want to sell your Joyce Byers cosplay, you need a few accessories and ideally -a haunted, light-covered wall. Guy Turns Keurig Coffee Machine Into Bionic Hand

People often see Keurig coffee machines as a good purchase while at the store only to find the overpriced and underwhelming Keurig isn't as useful as a standard coffee machine.

So what's a jittery MacGyver to do when they discover their Keurig machine is a disappointment?

Take that Keurig apart and turn it into something far more useful, like a bionic hand.

(YouTube Link)

Evan Booth of Terminal Cornucopia spent nearly 200 hours turning a Keurig K350, a 12v power supply and various adhesives into Hedberg the bionic hand.

It's cool looking, but can it make a decent cup of coffee?

Twelve Painfully Obvious Facts Confirmed By Science

Have you ever stated a fact which you felt was painfully obvious only to have somebody ask what you're talking about or, even worse, dispute the validity of your claim?

These people clearly missed an important day of mental development if they think an obvious fact, like pigs love mud or cereal tastes better with milk, could possibly be disproven after all these years.

How are we supposed to deal with these infuriatingly ignorant people?

By letting members of the scientific community tell them what's what, because even deniers of the obvious can't ignore or dispute facts when they're presented by scientifical types.

So next time somebody argues high heels don't hurt our feet, guys don't stare at boobs or overeating doesn't make you fat, citing something they read on the internet as proof, you'll have the scientific proof to shut them up!

This Cat Has Deep Thoughts and Serious Concerns

Herman the Cat is a little guy with big eyes and a deep soul. At least, he certainly seems to think a lot more about important matters than other kitties. Just here he seems to be wondering whether it's worth loving anyone if they're only going to die or stop loving you eventually.

And here he seems to have realized what hot dogs are really made of.

Of course, sometimes he does relax that big brain of his -and then he looks like one chill little kitty.
