YenLee, that FAQ is just referring to objects mailed to that company... saying "I won't sign everything people send in the mail" is quite different from refusing autographs requested in person... Especially in an age where most people are asking for autographs to create something to sell on eBay, rather than for personal reasons...
It's very, very silly that this is being called a "trend" let alone something "new". It really drives home how incompetent the world of journalism is, even empires like National Geographic. And I always have to wonder. If they can't get BASIC stuff like this factually correct, stuff that can be confirmed with a simple google search or an email, why should I trust ANYTHING they write on ANY subject?
