Simple. They're the Klingon EMPIRE so, like all empires, they're made up of several smaller nations. We've seen two of them in the TV shows and movies: the '60s-era dudes with goatees and the lobster-skulled big guys. Those are the two most war-minded races of the empire, so they're the ones who go out fighting.
But there must be other races of the empire who stay at home and do the sciencing, the farming, the ship-building, the uniform-sewing, etc. We just haven't seen them on TV.

What is a little sad is that the push for modernity has made some parts of buildings worse in terms of spreading disease than traditional materials.
A good example is the simple door handle or pushplate, formerly made of brass which self-disinfects (I think it might be the copper in the brass, but I don't know) and now usually made from stainless steel which must be disinfected manually

I had a bad accident many years ago. Fell asleep and hit a concrete culvert head-on. My '63 car had no seat belts or air bags. I put my head through the windshield, requiring 43 stitches to sew me up. When I went back to my ruined car to retrieve things, I saw that I had bent the steering wheel over, smashed the dashboard with my knees. Amazingly I did not break any bones. I was lucky to survive.

I remember when I cut my finger tips with a hedge clippers and had to have them stitched. The pain killer shots they had to give me between my knuckles was brutal. When I had my heart surgery, they glued me back together. I know, when we think "glue" we think of something like Elmer's. Of course, this was more high tech stuff.

In my early days i've seen the fight between Betamax and VHS... The early end of the Laserdisc... The end of 3D TVs.. Now i await the production of the last DVD player ... still awaiting the replacement of the blueray...
The most dazzeling aspect of all those techical achievements is that they still do not make better movies...

Great story. Now think about this: if a student can get through medical school without incurring mountains of debt, he might be able to serve his community as a general practitioner. GPs are sorely needed, but don't pay as well as specialties.

I have some mixed feelings about these guidelines.
I started my first job at 15. I got my driver's license at 15. I also had free reign to travel anywhere in town when I was 7. I frequently explored abandoned military outposts when I was a kid, and even found buried relics from those same outposts that eventually wound up in a museum. That being said, I also had to carry my brother after he sliced open his foot on one of those excursions, so...it ain't all good.
Learned to swim at age 5, so rivers and stuff weren't a problem. I guess there isn't a good chart for this type of thing. The best option is to teach kids early on how to deal with life. Training them to swim, avoid poison, and avoid traffic are probably the best options. Life is dangerous. There's no way to protect your kids forever. Nobody makes it out alive.

Hats off to whoever told them the river runs in a circle. That's the kind of epic troll you usually see reserved for Facebook posts offering "helpful hints" that are actually sure-fire ways of ruining one's car or phone.

I'll bet someone's off their Christmas card list now.
