This is the most suspenseful movie I've seen in a long time!What happened to the first guy who was unable to get out? How many people can fit down in that hole? How come nobody is ever seen again after they disappear down through the hole? What's in there?

This is only slightly off topic. John's comment above about all of us being scientifically curious has a lot of truth to it. Prompted me to take a look at Dr. Rebecca Burch's profile, also linked above. Who is this New York Professor who drew the attention of Dave Barry and then a good deal of the Neatorama Universe?
