Classic Pinups as Disney Princesses

There are a lot of mashups featuring Disney princesses out there, but if you're a fan of the legendary pinup art of Gil Elvgren as well as Disney's lovely ladies, then you'll love these new mashups by DeviantArtist KittRen.

Her artwork features both new and old princesses and does an excellent job maintaining the style of Elvgren while adding the iconic details of the princesses we know and love. Be sure to visit KittRen's portfolio to see the whole series.

The Most Misunderstood Lines in Literature

(Video Link)

There's nothing quite like a good read, but some people prefer to read the CliffsNotes on famous works of literature rather than reading them. When that happens too often, people sometimes start throwing out lines from books and poems with meanings totally different than what the author intended to say.

This great TopTenz article features a great selection of the most misused literary quotes so you can stop yourself from making the same mistakes. It's up to you to decide if you want to correct people using these quotes wrong, but remember, some people can't take even the slightest criticism, so it's not always worth mentioning.

10 People With Great Tattoos At the 2015 San Diego Comic Con

In the world of fandom there's no more brightly colored, bolder or more permanent way to show you are forever a fan than getting a tattoo. Your favorite pop culture characters often start out as ink on a page, so it only makes sense to get them immortalized as ink on your body. Tattooing is a creative and personal way to prove your unwavering dedication to your favorite franchise.

Comic Book Tattoos: Level Epic

For many fans the act of getting a tattoo of their favorite characters is the ultimate form of fandom, since it’s a permanent addition to their bodies, but the guy in these pics isn’t an ordinary fan. He has dedicated his entire body to characters from comic books, turning his arms and torso into a shrine for the superheroes he worships.

If anybody argues that he’s not the ultimate Marvelite he need only take off his shirt and stun them into admitting they were wrong with his incredibly cool ink. Let’s start with his left arm, where we see Cyclops, Gambit, Wolverine and Beast of the X-Men battling a Sentinel, with Angel flying in from above to lend a hand. Just to show that he’s a mighty big fan of the Jade Giant he has the Incredible Hulk tattooed on his inner bicep. Once the shirt comes off we find Venom and Carnage fighting it out for the privilege of pectoral placement. And then he turns around and shows you that the mighty Fin Fang Foom has his back!

Finishing our tour off on his right arm we see Spawn squaring off against Malebolgia, and above that there’s a Violator springing into battle.

Disney Delights

Ohana means family, and when you’re the star of a feature released by Disney you’re part of the largest family in animation history. This gal wasn’t content with getting only one or two members of the Disney family tattooed on her body, and this colorful collection of characters shows the diversity of features being put out by Disney these days. We’ve got Tinkerbell from Peter Pan flying overhead, Stitch from Lilo & Stitch smiling his cute little face off, the sweet ragdoll Sally posing and smiling pleasantly, and the Little Mermaid's Ariel spending some time above water with her animated friends.

On an arm far, far away we have another far out member of the Disney family- R2D2 proudly sporting a pair of Mickey Mouse ears. Welcome to the Disney Dark Side R2!

14 Great Ways to Add LEGO Style to Your Home

Are you the kind of person who builds a LEGO box to store your loose LEGO bricks in? Do your dreams consist of new ways to construct elaborate creations with your interlocking brick toys? If so, you won't want to miss our newest Homes and Hues article featuring 14 ways you can incorporate LEGO pieces into your home decor.

Some of the pieces use real LEGO blocks, but others only use things that look like LEGO bricks because, after all, a real LEGO pillow might look cool, but it wouldn't exactly be comfortable.

Perhaps one of the coolest things about this LEGO list though is that so many of them are simple DIYs that a real LEGO-fiend would already have the materials for.

So check out the full list at Homes and Hues: 14 Ways to Decorate Your Home With LEGO Goodness

55 Cool Cosplays From the 2015 San Diego Comic Con

To me, Comic Con is a lot like Christmas. I look forward to it all year round, but then when it arrives, I know I'll end up spending way too much money and running around frantically trying to complete everything I need to do before it's too late. That being said, Zeon and I did find plenty of time to get lots of great pictures of the cosplayers at the convention and here are a few of the best ones we spotted this year.

Lydia may not be happy to see Beetlejuice -especially when she magically appears in her red wedding dress, but I was sure happy to see the two of them.

These two adorable Vault Dwellers, portrayed by Jessica Nasserian and Gina Glenn, were ready to explore the wastes and were even ready to bribe strangers with custom-made Nuka Cola caps.

Comic Con might just be a bit of a wasteland too -I even stumbled upon a Mister Gutsy and a lovely woman in a pre-war dress offering up Sugar Bombs.

Then again, I also ran into Guile handing out American flag temporary tattoos and reminding kids that "winners don't use drugs" -so who knows what era we were in.

I love watching Joker and Harley from afar, but I sure wouldn't want to go to a sock hop with these two -who knows what trouble they'll cause?

The Strangest Ice Cream Flavor From Every State

Looking for a cool way to cool down on your next fifty-state road trip? Then you won't want to miss this great Delish article that features the strangest flavor of ice cream available in each state. As you might expect, not every state has particularly kookie flavors (Alabama, is black walnut really the wackiest you can come up with), but even so, there are plenty of outrageous tastes worth trying.

Personally, I'd love to try Louisiana's champagne and violet or Kansas' pineapple cilantro sorbet, but I admit that I'm a little terrified of New York's horseradish flavor and Maine's lobster ice cream served with real chunks of lobster.

Some of The Weirdest Drinks Sold In Japan

I'm willing to bet that you've never sat back, sipped on a nice beer and thought, "you know, this could really use some milk." Amazingly though, someone in Japan did, which is why Bilk is a real thing you can buy -featuring 70% beer and 30% milk.

Of course, I would drink a six pack of Bilk before I ever touched Placenta 400,000, which, as the name suggests, is made with real swine placenta. These terribly terrifyinig drinks and more were included in InventorSpot's list of the weirdest drinks in Japan, and believe it or not, this is actually the second such list -the original included such specialties as salad-flavored water and beer made for children.

The Best Quotes From Some of Cinema's Best Tough Guys

Maybe it's an unfair assumption, but if you're sitting here reading a blog right now, you're probably not a badass mercenary or undercover CIA operative. If you ever wished you could be a little tougher though, you might want to check out this great Flavorwire featuring 20 awesome quotes from some of the toughest guys on film -while it might not teach you how to be a scary ruffian, it could at least give you a little inspiration on how to talk like one.

Crochet Cthulhu Is Taking Over the World (Or At Least My Heart)

Are you a sucker for the great Cthulhu? Do you also have a soft spot for steampunk, Pokemon, Minions or Totoro? Then you need to visit Kutuleras' Etsy shop where you can grab plush versions of Cthulhu overtaking all your favorite geek icons.

Of course, Cthulhu plushies aren't the store's only offerings. You can also purchase cute versions of Totoro dressed like Pikachu and vice versa, Godzilla or even a Minion version of Freddie Mercury.

I for one welcome our new crochet plush overlords!

Some of the Weirdest Places You Might Want to Add to Your Bucket List

Are you big on traveling? Have you been all around this big blue marble we call home? Looking for somewhere different to visit? Then boy are you in luck! Over on TopTenz, you can find ten strange vacation destinations you probably never would have considered before -like the Catatumbo River Mouth seen above. That's not just a lucky photo of one crazy storm, that massive thunderstorm is an almost daily occurence that lasts up to ten hours after sunset.

Of course, some of these bucket list destinations might just be the end of you -from the volcanic island so filled with sulfur that all resident wear gas masks with them at any given time to the Brazilian island where you are never more than one step away from a horrendously venomous snake. Be sure you only visit these stops on the list when you actually are ok with kicking the bucket.

Are You Patriotic Enough for the Independence Dog?

Hot dogs are an American tradition and I'm willing to bet that almost any of you who went to a Fourth of July barbeque probably had the option to eat one, even if you chose not to. That being said, you can make a hot dog even more all-American with a little extra work -that's where the Vulgar Chef comes in.

When the Fourth came around this year, the Vulgar Chef took advantage of the holiday by making the most American hot dog of all time -the Independence Dog. This delightful monstrosity takes a typical hot dog, wraps in bacon, then covers it in in ground beef. The meat log is then deep fried, covered in marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese and pepperoni and then served on a bun made of deep fried macaroni and cheese.

Let freedom ring my friends!

These Pokemon Make Bath Time Fun For Adults

There are a lot of fun bath toys out there for kiddos and plenty of fancy, relaxing bath products out there for adults, but it's rare to find something that bridges that gap. FizzyFairyApothecary sells Pokeball bath bombs that are a perfect combination of both adult and childhood baths.

Each bath bomb looks like a Pokemon ball and comes with a Pokemon toy inside -it's like getting a toy inside your cereal again!
