There's a science to this whole thing. Marketers have done extensive experiments to find out and optimize the "open rate" of mailed envelopes. If I remember correctly, plain white envelopes with nothing on them except the address of the recipient still works best.

The article did say that Nordic babies that sleep outside in the cold are supposed to be healthier (and get fewer colds), but obviously there's no solid studies done on that.
Obviously because Monsanto wants to keep on selling their seeds year after year. They've used things like terminator seeds technology to ensure that the crop's seeds aren't plantable for next year's crop.
