I don't think cross contamination is in the mind of most of your potential customers. After all, most of us (I hope) brush our teeth every night using our hands. I've used the Wisp and saliva is not a problem.
The key would be to convince them that the tongue brush is more convenient/discreet/whatever, otherwise it'll be relegated to a novelty item status.
