Puppy Blanket

I don't think it is possible to have a more comfortable nap than this. Holy Moly. One thousand people just died from smiling too hard when they saw this, another thousand just decided it's time to have a baby, and a final thousand went out looking to adopt puppies. I have to stop posting cute things today - it's too much strain on my cold little heart.

Side note- While this is about the cutest thing of the decade, I can't imagine it is all fun and games when these munchkins decide to wake up. Raising three puppies and a baby all at once would be quite a task.

Diaper Roo

The big feet paired with the big eyes and ears make this guy a lady-killer. I wonder if that is a specifically designed diaper for marsupials or they just said what the heck and strapped a human diaper to this kangaroo. I don't think there are many tigers in The Outback so I am leaning toward human diaper with a hole cut out for the tail.

Bon Iver + Baby Animals + Keep = Heartstrings A' Plucking

Bon Iver has launched a shoe with the shoe company Keep. A video was put together showcasing the shoe along with pulling out our heartstrings by using baby animals.

The shoe is actually pretty cool if you ask me, so cool in fact... I might just get a pair. Consider it an early birthday present to myself which is only a few short weeks away. Sadly, for the second time in my life I am not looking forward to it at all. The first time being last years birthday. Turning 23 is meh, it's whatever.

Oh but the music video totally cheered me up so it was worth it.

Make Geeky Foods Like Elven Lembas Bread and Butterbeer

Want to serve some Elven Lembas Bread (from Lord of The Rings) for appetizers at your Christmas party? How about Butterbeer (Harry Potter) to celebrate the New Year? Now you can! Check out this entire list of fantastically geeky foods you can cook at home. Want Slurm? Why not Zoidberg?

There is even a list of 10 Butterbeer recipes.

Recipe #2: Just as easy as Recipe #1 but for adults. Ingredients: 1 cup butterscotch schnapps 7 cups cream soda (2 liter bottle) Directions: 1. Carefully mix just before serving, adding the schnapps to the soda then stirring gently to mix well, or the fizz will dissipate too soon.

Now that is some Butterbeer I can get behind. Just me... and Emma Watson... sipping it by the warmth of the fire. Talking about how dumb all those Brown kids are at school. What?! No! I don't have a crush in Hermoine Granger - don't say that. She may be the same age as me.. but she seems too young (she is 22, I am 23 this month). Let's just keep this between you and me, shall we?

Zombie Iron Man

Add the best superhero (he is the best, not a typo) with the best living dead creatures and what do you get? Zombie Iron Man. So maybe it's a stretch to say Iron Man could even become a zombie, how could they bite through the suit after all, but zombies are a stretch of the imagination themselves.

Married For 20 Years By Accident

You might recognize the woman in the photo as Janeane Garofalo (photo: Andrew H Walker/Getty Images). She has been in great films such as Dogma and Half Baked.

Janeane Garefalo was recently surprised to learn she is married- for 20 years in fact. In the early 90's her and Rob Cohen, producer of The Big Bang Theory, were drunk together in Las Vegas. So inebriated were the two that they went through a drive-through chapel, pronounced man and wife, only to forget about for... well, 20 years.

It was only discovered when Cohen's lawyer was going through legal records preceding his second marriage. Wouldn't that be one interesting phone call? I wonder how the lawyer broke it to him.

"Well sir, unless you plan on converting to Mormonism... you are going to have to get a divorce before you can get married."

Update: Apparently they were listed on Wikipedia as married all this time. Both Garofalo and Cohen thought it was a practical joke on them and not in any way true.

Just On a Walk With My Monkey

From redditor Daviddesousa we get this beautiful picture of a girl walking her monkey. There isn't much information out there about the picture, its location, or the girl, but people of the internet seem to think it is Mumbai. I have always wanted to go to Mumbai, or well India in general. Anyone been? See the large version of this picture here.

Rikku Doesn't Like Walks

Rikku doesn't like to walk. My dog is the same way. Unlike Rikku though, he loves to run. He is either standing still - sniffing some poop, or sprinting ahead full speed. If only he were a little bit more like Rikku.

Chart of Twitter Profiles

I can tell you I am not the biggest enthusiast of Twitter, but I have to agree with this chart. Of the people I see on Twitter, most of them seem to fall into the "think they're stand up comedians" section. That or the "misused / over simplifying inspirational quotes" section. Okay that one isn't on the chart, but it should be. If I have to read another "live life like there is no tomorrow" quotes on Twitter... ...I will send you research and documents proving why and how exactly there wil be a tomorrow. So yeah, take that.

Oh and follow us on Twitter by the way. Hopefully we are in the "good information" section, but then again we probably fall into "zombie" section.

Ink Calendar

This is my kind of calendar. The ink is absorbed into the paper day by day. The asthetic sort of reminds me of Harold and the Purple Crayon. The piece was created by Oscar Diaz.

Ink Calendar is a cleverly designed prototype of a self-advancing calendar by London-based artist Oscar Diaz. The basic idea behind the inventive day tracker is that a vial of ink is absorbed by a trail of paper cut into sequential numeric values—like a row on a calendar... ...By the end of the month, the calendar's numbers are designed to be fully soaked in color.

Top 10 Most Read Books In The World

Illustration: Jared Fanning

I had an inclination that The Bible would be number one, but I had no idea by how much. I think it is a little skewed because of the chosen statistics. For one, it is over the last 50 years - which is a long span of time. The first Harry Potter book wasn't published until 1997. The Da Vinci Code was published in 2003. I will not bother to look up Twilight. Ew, Twilight. Also this is based on books sold, I am sure The Bible does a whole lot of selling to churches and what not.

I would love to see this with just the last 10-12 years. I am not sure what other metric could be used besides sales but it would be worth looking into.

Mr. Dogbert Looks Elegant Today

It certainly is not Mr. Dogbert. He looks so regal, I bet he gets all the ladies. I don't actually know if this is a male or female dog at all, I just usually assign gender based on my instinct. I also made up the name Mr. Dogbert, feel free to use it in the future.

Nick Offerman - It Gets Fuller

Where was this video a week ago!? Nick Offerman I needed you then. I caved, I have to admit it. I shaved - my beard was weird. I was probably somewhere in between a dirty hipster and a cheesy adult film actor. Not a good look for me. If only I had known it gets fuller.

To start over or not? Oh, the humanity, these decisions are killing me. How are you guys doing on your Movember challenge? Still going strong or did you cave like I did? For those of you loving it, remember there is life after Movember. Like Decembeard.

War Portrait Project

Photographer Lalage Snow has put together a stunning project, titled We Are The Not Dead, featuring portraits of British soldiers before, during, and after deployment in Afghanistan. While this project does mark a striking resemblance to other series, it still captures a sort of haunting change in the faces of these young men.

Snow's series accompanies each triptych with quotes from each of the servicemen that gives a great deal of insight into their mental and emotional state at each given time. Sergeant Alexander McBroom's first portrait, before deployment, features him bravely saying, "I am not worried about going out - it is my job after all." Three months later, he is quoted as saying, "It has been an eye opener." And, finally, another four months after, he says, "It is always that fear, that apprehension, what is going to happen if I get blown up?" Having gone through life-altering trials and warfare, it is no surprise that fear is no longer a foreign feeling to these courageous men.

Snow's intention with the series is to not only honor their bravery by featuring them, but to also draw attention to every soldiers' psychological transformation. She says, "It was a very personal project and stemmed from having embedded with the military on and off for 4 years in Iraq and Afghanistan and bearing witness to how many young men return as shadows of their former selves and, in many cases, with deep, psychological scars. As the body count of British servicemen killed or wounded rose and the political ramifications of the British army’s presence in Afghanistan became increasingly convoluted, more and more soldiers felt like they didn’t have a voice, or at least, weren’t being listened to. We Are The Not Dead is an attempt at giving the brave young men and women the chance to explain how it really is."

Check out the entire series here.

Grocery List Doodle

I have a feeling that by the time the artist were done with their grocery list, the store was closed.

Now if only I could get a copy of this list, as I am too lazy to ever write grocery lists and always end up shopping with my stomach. Believe me, that 1/2 pound of mesquite smoked turkey is much less appetizing if you forget to buy the bread.
