I like Whole Foods take on how to promote healthy lifestyles in their employees. I can respect the preference for a healthy workforce that practices what they preach.

My step-father is an overweight hospital worker. He could certainly benefit from having a goal set in front of him to diet, but this just seems remarkably harsh for the social norm of babying people. It seems like the hospitals would benefit from a mind frame more along the lines of incentives rather than not hiring fully qualified employees simply from the PR side of it.

I don't know. It's along the same lines as applying make-up to me, or maybe the tattooed make-up... Except this will actually help people not avoid you or make little kids cry.

Children's Choirs. Uuuugh. I, however, like it's a small world. I like to drive my husband crazy with it, but he is always amazed that I know all the words. It really is a short song...

Don't any of you wonder how the Jeep caught on fire? It burst into flames enough to give the kid in the back seat severe burns! Was the child playing with flares? Good grief!

Yadda yadda, the lady is a good human for stopping to help. :)

My thoughts are that it's taking those percentages off the end years of life and who wants to end ones anyway? :)

You would be hard pressed to find anything nice to say about beef other than it is effing delicious and maybe something about it being rich in vitimin b's. Cutting red meat out of a diet is certainly healthier, but as the mood of the comments above illustrates, what average Joe really cares?

Is it a racist stereotype, or do black people make less money and therefore can not spend the money on extra curricular activities and practice tests that their supposedly more affluent white counterparts can afford? I wonder if, in non affirmative action states, the family income level is the, or perhaps just a large, indicator of whether you will get enrolled or not.

But... if income is the root, how does one break the cycle and move to the next salary level without an education? It seems pretty circular, at least in my small scope. I don't know if it's a point of racism, or that it's just really difficult to make this a fair situation for anyone. BUT, who should be concerned with fair when one candidate is, in fact, more qualified vs the other?
