you're all missing the point - my girlfriend also has a huge closet full of t-shirts etc., I'm sure most made in china, ad definitely too much clothes (i haven't seen her wear everything she owns and I've known her five years)... this is endemic in North America - obsessive shopping (by women mostly, I know VERY few men with full-on wardrobes), hoarded clothes, a waste of money, a prop to the Chinese production line, and a blatent insult to poor people the world over - this post mocks poverty, as do any people who have enough clothes that they could lose 1/2 and not notice

meanwhile, back in Newfoundland - when cod and other fish were plentiful here, and the Grand Banks supplied most of Europe with fish, Lobsters (a bottom feeder) were considered only fit for the poorest folk - strange how that's swung around to them being some sort of luxury. Now, halibut cheeks... there's some tasty tasty treats

did anyone ever see the video (possibly a hoax) where some base jumpers got footage of an unidentifiable thing flying thru their frame? they slowed it and it appeared to look like an arrow's tail... saw it once on tv 5 years ago, never since... any ideas?

beavers are not always 'natural' note the story where Canadian beavers were brought to South America and made a mess of things since they were not 'naturally' part of the life cycle there: "in 1946, ambitious breeders brought 25 pairs of Canadian beavers to the Argentinean province of Tierra del Fuego in hopes of spawning a fur industry in the area. Now both Argentina and Chile are suffering from an explosion of the dam-building Canadian icons. Far from their natural predators, the beavers have been able to reproduce without restraint, putting serious strain on the local ecosystem. "

- agreed with Jay@2 - it's called the 'rule of thirds,' I think - you should have the eyes at or near 1/3 down from the top of frame - check out the tv talking heads to verify... and, I gotta say it - isn't that dude "dancing" around the world politically incorrect on a few issues? global travel in airplanes for no reason (emissions), obvious disinterest and even disrespect for cultures by jerking himself around like a frat boy (the people and places don't matter, just the image of himself in them), AND it's not a dance, it's a lame excuse for a dance - if you saw him do that at a party you'd say he were an ass - and that he was finally sponsored to do it?! yeesh - teh internets are LAME if that's good enough for top 5

being slender and surrounded by fat folks and excessive consumerism, I have a real problem with gluttony and wasted food, and so this sort of story has always pissed me off - even the "sports" news shows these eating "contests" as though there is something athletic involved - with all the starving people out there, this should be outlawed - I really cannot understand why it is newsworthy in any sense - not neat at all
