im not sure how that's really evidence of a tortoise responding to voice. tortoises have very limited hearing. one of my tortoises likes to follow people(and other pets) around the yard but if he doesn't see you, he won't come in your direction. shining a flashlight down into his burrow would sure do the trick.

yeah, i used to live in coconut grove as well. with the newer pay station's instead of the old meters, once you left the parking spot, nobody could use any extra time you payed for.

parking around there has always been a mess. it's best to ride your bike through the grove. certainly more enjoyable as well.
