According to the Geoff Emmerick (engineer to the Beatles) book "Here, There and Everywhere". Abbey Road was originally going to be entitled "Everest" and the cover photo would depict the band in front of Mt. Everest. Ringo had stomach problems and didn't like to travel, so he half-jokingly said "Let's just call it Abbey Road and shoot the picture outside".

Small request - it would be nice to be able to reply to people's comments individually. The site seems to have a lot of discussions in the comment section.

Thanks for the site! Love it!

Swagger

I don't hear it much in everyday speech but seems to be the buzzword of football analysts this year. Drives me crazy. Especially since it was often used to describe my team right before they went on a losing streak.

Wow, fun how we all have our own interpretations. For my group of friends in high school it was simple. If indoors, when the driver said "Let's go" then shotgun may be called. If we were returning from a movie or somewhere outside, shotgun could be called once the car was visible.

Yes I had to cover my eyes for the Pee-Wee scene for many years. Funny how tame it seems now. I guess it's that surprise element.

Surprised the "Boo her!" woman from Princess Bride wasn't on the list, she freaked me out as a kid too. Also, in addition to the "Cornfield" scene in Casino I would add the "Vice" scene which horrified me as an adult. Supposedly happened in real life too.

Maybe an honorable mention to Tool? No advanced degrees I know of but they do have the song "Lateralus". The time signature revolves through three bars of 9/8, 8/8 and 7/8. 987 being a number in the Fibonacci sequuence. The lyrics of the song talk about the spiral as a metaphor for understanding and creativity too.

I'll take a motorized surfboard! (or Jet ski as we call them today). Also I think having guys in suits demonstrating water inventions is a great idea.

I notice that when I return to a book and try to find my place on a page I've been reading, if I just stop thinking my eyes will fall right on the spot I left off. When I think and search sometimes I go past the spot multiple times. Seems my eyes know better than my brain.
