Do people honestly watch this football game just for the ads?

I'm not a sports fan so I don't watch the Super Bowl. I have friends who watch it, but they all enjoy football. Are there people around who will sit thru a 3+ hour TV show just to see some commercials?

"The idea that Batman is a selfish plutocrat defending his own narrow interests is the argument of a juvenile mind which conflates freedom with anarchy. Batman is fighting against Gotham's descent into a Nietzschean hell where the only "law" is will to power."

You said it, Jeffos!

Batman is a guy who, thanks to his incredible wealth, is able to devote his time and energy defending the people of Gotham against government corruption and criminal acts.

I don't think it has anything to do with keeping the status quo. In fact, I think the status quo in Gotham is so bad, Batman is trying to overthrow it.

Plus the guy has a giant penny and a dinosaur in his underground cave. How can you not love a guy like that?

This is a late post and nobody is gonna read it, but it will make me feel better to post it.

Why is it a good thing to be losing the ability to sew, or to iron shirts? I was single until I was in my late 20s so I learned how to sew, and iron, and cook, and vacuum, and do "manly" things like hammer nails, I guess, and chew on 2x4s and rub sandpaper across my bare buttocks.

As a 31 year old man, many of my peers (male and female) lack basic skills like ironing and sewing. These things aren't hard to do. Men AND women should know how to do them.

You left out, regarding Fred Barry, that he passed away back in 2003 due to complications from a stroke. I remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news. I was folding clothes in my grandmother's laundry room.

I wept.

Okay, I found an image here:

The image shows two vague round lights. No way are these things pterodactyls. I'm calling shenanigans on this one.

It seems like there was a whole rash of these Time Capsule things back in the '80s. I remember my elementary school doing one. I don't remember it being dug up, but that seems kind of irrelevant, since many people had some of the same stuff from the time capsule hanging around their house.

The internet is kind of like a time capsule, except nostalgia never sets in because nothing ever goes away.

This is seriously important shit these guys are doing.

Honestly, I am part of the generation that is supposed to be super-internet-savvy, and I just don't get the big deal about Foursquare.

Maybe I just have an old soul.

I just spent three hours reading that site and poring over every single photo. What an incredibly interesting story. The site is full of a lot more fantastic development art than I expected to find at a Colorforms site!

Rosa Parks had some real guts to do what she did. Frankly I've always been surprised it didn't lead to violence.

It is so strange to me that it was so recently - within my father's lifetime - that certain people were not allowed to sit in certain places, or had to use different entrances, based on whether or not they were white.

I agree with wpdunn about Montoya. Plus, the character had at least one boyfriend before they decided to tack lesbianism onto her, back in the late 1990s / early 2000s.

I would support this with the caveat that they need to coax Frank Oz out of Muppet retirement to perform the character. The subsequent performers do not have his gifts of ad-lib and improvisation.
