10 Watches More Expensive Than a Ferrari
A $5,120,000 watch??  Think of the poor and hungry you could feed instead of buying one of these.

Most of these watches are more complicated than college calculus and have more history than you could learn in a lifetime. You might even need an engineering degree and an instructional tome to figure out how they work. Regardless, all these watches (for one reason or another) are ridiculously cool and absurdly expensive. Sell the Ferrari, liquidate the stocks, and pick up one of these bad-ass timekeeping devices.

The Lovers of the Isle of Demons
Located at the savage northern tip of Newfoundland, the Isle of Demons was reputedly inhabited by wild beasts, all sorts of mythological creatures, and evil spirits.

The first to give a detailed description of the island was a 16th century Franciscan friar. Sailors had told him they had heard here "a clamor of voices, confused and inarticulate"...

Shortly afterwards, it was here that the beautiful Marguerite and her lover were put ashore by her infuriated uncle, the captain de Roberval...

The Isle of Demons did not tolerate a romantic idyll. The evil spirits of the island at once beset them, day and night. The lovers and the old nurse tried to drive the demons back through readings from the New Testament
and intercession of the Virgin Mary, but “beasts or other shapes abominably and unutterably hideous, the brood of hell, howling in baffled fury” kept visiting them.

Marguerite became pregnant and the infuriated tormentors redoubled their efforts. Her lover sickened and died, and so did the child… and finally the old nurse. Marguerite faced her agony and despair alone now. She killed three bears “as white as an egg”, but the demons were not “vulnerable to mortal weapons”.
