In Kyoto, one can enjoy tea prepared by the elusive Geisha. In order to indulge in this cultural experience, one can either pay a lot of money for the privilege of a semi-private audience or they can come to Kyoto when the Geisha put on their public dance performances. In the latter case, a person can pay an extra $5 on a $35-$40 ticket to sit in a room with a few dozen other people where a Geisha prepares tea and a Maiko, geisha apprentice, assists her.
