For most males, this is not so much a news story as a dream come true. Owners of an Austrian Spa (yes, it would be the Austrians) have created a series of swimming pools filled with 42,000 pints of lager.

Apparently, bathing in pools of beer can treat skin conditions, hair and fingernails, circulation problems and even help wounds heal more quickly. All this sounds fine, but there's a unique selling point: In the words of the owners, "if they don't work for you, you'll probably have drunk enough not to care".

If this isn't just a huge health scam we'll eat our hats, but equally we do quite want to go join in...
