So technically we were screwed from the beginning of time with this disease?
" "It looks like people 3000 years ago had the propensity, at least under
the circumstances of living in the King's court, to develop this
disease," said Wann."
Looks like being in the King's court group didn't help your chances! Orlando, FL - Checking in on some very old patients with cutting-edge computed tomographic (CT) technology reveals that atherosclerosis might not necessarily be a disease caused by a modern lifestyle. Imaging scans of Egyptian mummies, including some 3500 years old, reveals evidence of atherosclerosis, report researchers.

First off, you may be surprised to find that Albert Einstein
is not included on this list. The reason is that I have used a table of
IQ estimates for historical geniuses to determine the members and order
of this list, and Einstein’s IQ (around 160) did not make the grade. Link - via bezbrige Submitted on Nov 25, 2009 7:43 am by [submitter anonymized] |
If we sold some of the world's most expensive bras, we could do a lot of good. The following graphic breaks down exactly what that money could be put towards - feeding the hungry, saving the environment, and purchasing light bulbs. You know, sexy stuff. For well over 100 years, the bra has been the undergarment of choice when it comes to female upper-body support. Of course, when your only real competition is a bulky corset, the achievement doesn't seem quite as impressive. Outside of a few brassiere-burning 60s feminists, everyone loves the bra; however, some seem to love the bra a little too much. Fashion designers and their wealthy clients have taken the cherished feminine icon to depraved extremes, creating over-the-shoulder boulder holders that cost millions of dollars. Rather than blame the bras, why not consider just how these spectacular creations could really make the world a better place?

There are no camera tricks or special effects used in this video. It is simple, yet baffling. Without proof, it would be virtually impossible to believe what you are about to see. - via youtube Submitted on Nov 24, 2009 12:49 pm by [submitter anonymized] |

The first sequel to one of the greatest time travel adventures ever told turned 20 years old this week. Come take a look back at the movie Back to the Future Part II as it turns 2 decades old. I nearly crapped my pants in excitement after letting out a shamefully, girlish squeal of delight. HOLY CRAP! THERE’S GOING TO BE ANOTHER BACK TO THE FUTURE MOVIE!! My 13-14 year old mind couldn’t comprehend something that awesome. It nearly shut down. What I didn’t know is that it would be another few years before the sequel would be released.

Ryan Savas is a blogger, as well as a talented story artist for DreamWorks. In support of the upcoming 2nd Annual Hey You Guys charity event, he and some co-workers put together a piece depicting the iconic moment from Superman II when the dastardly trio of Zod, Non, and Ursa are imprisoned inside the Phantom Zone. While he has the flat image posted on his blog, the actual piece up for auction is rendered in layers for a 3D effect, as well as encased in acrylic for that extra Phantom Zone-y goodness. Thanksgiving. A tad boring, right? We all know about the Puritans and the Indians, and we love to stuff ourselves with turkey and cranberry sauce. But how much do you really know about this popular holiday? Link Submitted on Nov 25, 2009 12:16 pm by [submitter anonymized] |
Awesomely HUGE hot dog that is 16 inches long, weighs 7 pounds, and serves 50 people! Made to order weekly from a mixture of pork, beef, and veal, these Chi (where else?) produced monstrosities of meat are 16" long, 7lbs and designed to be divvied up into slices, yielding approximately 50 burger-style dog discs or one thing you should never let your friends put in your mouth, even in jest.
They have a hilariously produced dog-touting commercial at BigAssHotDog.com

Each year as the holiday shopping season gets into full swing there are
certain key dates on which retailers anticipate higher sales volume.
Some people mistakenly believe that Black Friday is the biggest online
shopping day of the year. However, the biggest online shopping day is
not Black Friday, nor is it the famed Cyber Monday. Online retailers
see increased sales in the 15-day lead-up to December 25 and while the
biggest online shopping day of the year is generally a Monday, it's
never Cyber Monday. Although Cyber Monday may not generate the most
sales of the year, it is important as a key indicator of how consumers
will spend for the remainder of the holiday season. Link Submitted on Nov 25, 2009 12:16 pm by [submitter anonymized] |
