Last week, we had the Star Wars Lightsaber Mini Hunt, a quickie treasure hunt featuring the Darth Vader Force FX Lightsaber from Hasbro (answer page here).
We've just picked the winners, using the random number algorightm from Random.org:
Congratulations to James La Salandra who won the Figural TARDIS Mug, Edward P who won the Cthulhu Mints, watsman who won the Unicorn Poop T-Shirt, and Soath who won the Grand Prize! Thank you for playing everyone!
Stay tuned for our next treasure hunt!

W00t! Look at what arrived at NeatoHQ: a super cool Comic-Con 2011 Special Ultimate Optimus Prime figure from our pals at Hasbro. And here's the best part: it's yours to win!
I'm excited to announce a quickie Transformers Treasure Hunt in collaboration with our friends over at The Daily What (a very cool blog, as I'm sure you all already know). Like our usual Tokyoflash Treasure Hunt, this contest involves finding answers to clues that we've left on both of our websites.
It's easy to play - for those who haven't played before, here's how: we'll give you a set of clues, for example:
1. What is the name of Neatorama's baby blog?
2. What is 2+1?
3. What is the name of the top grill listed in our Top 10 Coolest BBQ Grills article?
The answers: neatobambino, 3, and lynx make a web link on Neatorama: http://www.neatorama.com/neatobambino-3-lynx (go ahead, copy and paste to your browser). Easy, right?
Let's get on with the game, then! Here is the Transformers Treasure Hunt with TDW Geek:
1. word1: Check out The Daily What blog and navigate your way to the GEEK sub-blog (TDW Geek) and find the post about Balrog. It's a few pages in, so be sure to check out posts from the previous days using the "next" navigation button at the bottom of the blog.
What is the last word in the name of the documentary film?

2. word2: Somewhere in the NeatoShop's Gift for Geek category, there's an item with a Treasure Hunt clue (see above). What is the word in the clue? (Yes, you have to hunt around for it. After all, it is a treasure hunt! Go to the individual product pages and check out the images - don't forget to click on the thumbnails to embiggen).
Visit TDW Geek and the NeatoShop to find the two answers. Then string them together into a URL: http://www.neatorama.com/word1-word2 (all lower case, separated with a dash).
Good luck!
Update 8/5/11: Contest over! The clue on the NeatoShop has been removed. We'll announce the winners shortly! Thank you for playing, guys! Update 8/5/11: Congratulations to terrrtle who got the Canned Unicorn Meat, weelau who got the Wolf Hat, sharbott who got the Sharp Act Knife Sharpener, and Izzalily7 who got the grand prize of the Ultimate Optimus Prime!
Patty Henken thought she’d found more than a bargain when she tore the seat off an old chair she’d recently bought. Taped to the back was a key, and a note titled “Finders Keepers.” The note, typed but signed by a Chauncey Wolcott, described a vacant lot in Springfield, IL where a chest containing $250 worth of gold coins could be found.
Henken’s story attracted the attention of another woman, Betty Atkison Ryan, who knew a practical joker (long deceased) named John Slaven, who often used the fake name, Chauncey Wolcott.
Atkinson Ryan told the newspaper that Slaven was her boss in the Journal-Register’s classified advertising department decades ago. She said Slaven often used a typewriter to compose some of his jokes and signed them “Chauncey Wolcott.”
Ms. Henken has admitted to being had, but still thinks there must be something buried there. She luckily still has use of a donated backhoe; unfortunately the property owners have pulled the plug on her efforts.

Handbag designer Rachel Nasvik had a great idea on how to promote her new line for cheap: stage a great urban hunt for handbags!
Rachel places her handbags, stuffed with all sorts of girly stuff like lip gloss and bobby pins along with the note "You didn’t find this bag, this bag found you," hidden in public places around New York City. If you find it, you can keep it.
Clues on the whereabouts of her handbags are on Rachel’s Twitter. You can see imags of the discovered bags on her blog Thrill of the Chase – via Steve Hall and Angela Natividad’s Adrants
Whatever you think of the ad campaign, the photo is priceless! PLEASE NO PEE-PEE.
We’ve picked the winner for last week’s Tokyoflash Treasure Hunt on Neatorama at random (Answer page here). Congratulations to bailey1121 who won a gorgeous Tokyoflash I nfection watch in silver.
In the 500+ entries that we got, one really stood out: GrouchieGrumbles (entry #128) told us that if he/she should win, then we should just donate the prize to Toys for Tots charity. A Neatorama reader who prefers only to be called "a retired US Navy radioman" pointed this out to me.
Both of us are touched at the gesture, so we’ve decided to both donate $100 each to Toys for Tots, in honor of GrouchieGrumbles (whoever he is). This Christmas, times are tough – so Toys for Tots and other charities need our help more than ever. I’d like to invite you go open your heart (and wallet) and donate a little something.
Thank you to GrouchieGrumbles for his kind offer, to the anonymous Neatorama reader who contacted me about it, and lastly, to all of you who have done your parts in helping the less fortunate this holiday season.

For those of you who don’t know how to play (what? how could you!), here’s what it’s all about: it’s an online treasure hunt where you can win a free Tokyoflash watch of your choice, courtesy of the good folks at Tokyoflash.
Here’s the basic instruction. We’ll give you 3 questions, for example:

2. How many posts are on Neatorama’s homepage? (in numbers)
3. What’s the first insulting word in Neatorama’s article 10 Insulting Words You Should Know?
The answers (black, 30, frenchify) separated with dashes make a URL on Neatorama: http://www.neatorama.com/black-30-frenchify (go ahead, copy and paste this URL in your browser’s address bar).
Easy, right? Let’s get started then. Here are the Tokyoflash Treasure Hunt #7 Questions:
Visit Tokyoflash and Neatorama’s Online Shop to find the answers, then string ‘em together to make the URL (all words are lower case, separated by dash). Follow the instructions you’ll find there.
