Misery Bear buys a “happiness machine” in hopes of relieving his misery. But you know that’s not going to happen. He gets a new friend, whose true nature you will recognize before Misery Bear does. A BBC Comedy production. -via The Daily What

T Zero made this arm sculpture from the movie Terminator 2: Judgement Day out of spare parts. Then he gives you the process so you can make your own. However, you should be aware that it’s only two inches tall! Still, having on of these on your desk would be pretty cool. Link -via Everlasting Blort

Reddit member captaincripple lost a leg in a motorcycle accident a year ago. He asked the forum for design suggestions for his prosthetic, and decided to go with a Terminator theme. He unveiled the finished leg today. The artwork is by Stuart Vimpani of Brisbane, Australia. Link
Why does the Terminator look like Arnold Schwarzenegger? The cut scene of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machine explains the (unexpectedly hilarious) origin of the physical model of the Terminators.

Wild Ammo photoshopped seventeen movie posters to reflect original casting preferences. O.J. Simpson as the Terminator? Yes:
“The head of Orion, who were going to release the film, called me up and said, ‘Are you sitting down? I’ve cast this movie. … It’s O.J. Simpson for The Terminator,’” Cameron said.
Luckily for Schwarzenegger — and perhaps the public — this sounded like a recipe for titanic failure to the director.
“I said, ‘This is the stupidest idea I’ve ever heard,’” Cameron said. “I didn’t know O.J. Simpson, I had nothing against him personally. I didn’t know he was going to go murder his wife later and become a real Terminator.”
Yup, Simpson was almost the Terminator. Who knows how the course of human history would have been affected if this had become a reality.

They don’t make robotic destroyers from the future like they used to. Or perhaps I should say, they won’t build them like the used or, or will do better in the future than they had done in the more recent future. Anyway, this terminator proved to be less sturdy than what we’re used to seeing:
19-year-old Sean Stanley Smith was arrested on the Nevada border after he was spotted by a motorist wandering around the highway nude. He was ordered by police to stop but proceeded into a nearby casino – where he was then tasered in front of a group of children. Smith claims he was a Terminator sent back in time from the future.

1. Time travel in a Terminator movie is like plumbing in a porno: a very loose excuse to get to the action.
2. Anyone expecting accuracy is missing the point (and having much less fun than everyone else).
3. With that said, here is our attempt to construct a sensible time line of the franchise.

These ten different timelines, which are all affected whenever someone uses a time machine, can be confusing (as all time travel stories are), but reading them may help you prepare for the new movie Terminator: Salvation.
I’ve mulled it over some more, and I still believe there has to be a timeline where someone other than Kyle Reese is John Connor’s father. When The Terminator was a standalone movie, you could read it either way. Either there’s a circular causality, where Kyle is “always” John Connor’s father, or Kyle’s time travel creates a new branch. But Terminator 2 pretty much establishes that time travel always creates new branches, because there’s no fate but what we make. And the Connors, with their friendly T-800, are able to stop or at least delay Skynet. But of course, your mileage, even backwards and forwards through time, may vary.
