Etsy seller Rebecca Roka offers this squidscot covered with 29 sucker cups. Her shop includes a “Tentacle section.” Now there’s a retailing novelty! Not even the largest Wal-Mart has a tentacle section.

Sure, you could have an ordinary wall tentacle, but what fun is that? If you’re going to really shock your mother-in-law, it needs to be in a traditional craft, such as embroidery. Craftster user jemimah made this solid work of embroidery using a technique called stumpwork. That involves working the fabric over a wire base to form a solid object.

Etsy seller ArtAkimbo created a sculpture that looks like a tentacle entering the room through a porthole. It’s made from wood, styrofoam, newsprint, and sawdust. At the link, you can see pictures of what it would look like in a well-furnished office or bedroom.

Web Urbanist just put up a nice collection of art installations on buildings. They’re all great designs, particularly the tentacle piece above:

An artist calling himself ‘FilthyLuker’ installed inflatable octopus tentacles in the windows of an unnamed building in June of 2009, making it appear as if the building is being devoured by a bright green kraken that somehow emerged from the sea and got stuck inside.
