Home TARDIS Construction for Fun and Profit

Posted by John Farrier in Entertainment, Science Fiction, Video Clips on January 27, 2012 at 6:42 pm

(Video Link)

The awesomest viral video of the day is this gem hosted by YouTube user sillysparrowness. She built a (nonfunctional model of a) TARDIS. Why? “A woman isn’t complete without her own TARDIS.”

The construction is good, but her hilarious presentation and video editing make this the best home TARDIS construction project ever. She’d be a great companion for the Doctor.

TARDIS Purse

Posted by John Farrier in Entertainment, Science Fiction on January 10, 2012 at 5:50 pm

We’ve previously seen a TARDIS purse made of duct tape, but this one is a professionally-made, durable polyester fake leather purse. Officially, its dimensions are 28 x 16 x 16 cm, but….

It’s made by Etsy seller Mochi Hernandez. At $250 a piece, they’re pricey, so you may prefer a TARDIS cookie jar instead.

TARDIS Cookie Jar

Posted by Alex in NeatoShop Features on January 8, 2012 at 7:03 am

The interior of this TARDIS Cookie Jar ($31.95) may not be larger than the exterior like the time machine in Doctor Who, but it sure holds quite a bit of cookies. The geeky cookie jar plays back TARDIS sound effects when you open the lid.

Cool Custom TARDIS DVD Bookcase

Posted by Zeon Santos in Entertainment, Home & Garden, Living, Science Fiction, TV on December 3, 2011 at 7:48 pm

Model builder msmuse101 and her father threw their skills together and produced this awesome TARDIS dvd shelving unit, which looks so good they should mass produce them and sell them in stores.

The only problem with this TARDIS? It’s way smaller inside than it looks on the outside, like it was made in an alternate reality.

TARDIS Telescope Cover

Posted by Miss Cellania in Design, Gadgets, Hacks & Mods on June 22, 2011 at 1:30 pm

Duncan Kitchin is a stargazer and a Doctor Who fan. He also has a rather large telescope that’s too big to easily take inside and back out often. So he built a TARDIS box as a telescope shed! One side comes off, and the rest rolls away on wheels. When Kitchin is through with the telescope, just cover it up again and the instrument is protected from the weather. I don’t know about you guys, but I would absolutely love to have my own knitted Tardis blanket like this one, created by Flickr user hedoknitstic. Aside from the obviously awesome style it adds to your room, how cool would it be to get to tell everyone that your bed is bigger on the inside than on the outside?

Tiny Time Lord

Posted by The Dude in Baby & Kids, Crafts, Science Fiction, Toys, TV on February 2, 2011 at 9:10 pm

I seem to have a theme going on here. First the little Darth Vader from the upcoming Super Bowl Volkswagen ad, and now we have this teensy-weensie timey-wimey guy in a TARDIS his dad made for him.

What a lucky little Time Lord! I wish I would have gotten a TARDIS for my birthday! Mateo’s dad, Brian, made this out of corrugated paper, and his mom, Jennifer posted it on on her blog.
