The main disadvantage to getting up in the morning is compelling your body to move from a horizontal position to a vertical position. This experience has been vastly overrated and is avoided by all right-thinking people. Here’s a breakthrough design by the home design firm Dornbracht that reduces, but not eliminates, this problem. The next necessary development is a machine that moves you from the bed to the shower (and then back to bed) without any personal effort. What do you think? Would you like to use a horizontal shower?

The suspect wasn’t doing anything odd, really. He just broke into a house and started taking a shower. No big deal. The homeowner found him there and demanded to know what he was doing. The intruder, fearing for his life, locked himself in the bathroom and called 911:
Accompanied by two German shepherds, the homeowner asked Chapek what he was doing in the house.
Chapek locked himself in the bathroom and made an emergency call, police said. He said he had broken into the house, the owner had come home, and that he was concerned the owner might have a gun.

Of the roughly 8000 satellites that have been launched, which would seem to result in a veritable shooting ground for meteors, only one has ever been hit and subsequently destroyed by such a force. The European Space Agency’s communications satellite, Olympus, suffered that fate in 1993. Satellites are programmed to avoid events like the Perseid showers, but that year, the Perseids shifted.
Back in August 1993, the Perseids were expected to be anything but normal; Comet Swift-Tuttle had passed Earth’s orbit in 1992, and astronomers predicted an unusually intense shower. Spacecraft operators took steps to protect their vehicles.
But one spacecraft, the European communications satellite OLYMPUS, could not take precautionary measures. OLYMPUS already had been dealt an unlucky blow by a sporadic meteoroid, which disabled one solar array’s pointing system. So OLYMPUS was stuck facing the oncoming Perseid stream.
More on this story at the link, and incidentally- last year was the first time two satellites collided.

Still in the concept stage, the Phyto-Purification Bathroom and Shower would make your bathroom more environmentally friendly:
Using a natural filtering principle called phyto-purification, the bathroom becomes a mini-eco-system by recycling and regenerating the wastewater.
The water from the shower and the washbasin is filtered through an organic system before being re-used.
Phyto-purification is a natural water-recycling process which is commonly used in ecological purification systems.
