With
this ring, I thee wed .... and with this one, I thee ... divorce?
That's right - jewelers Spritzer and Furman created this symbolic ring to commemorate the ending of a marriage. At $3,200 it's a cheap price to pay for saying goodbye to someone you (used to) love. (It's something to add to your Divorce Registry!)

Adam Koford (Apelad) mixed Lord of the Rings with The Green Lantern in a way that just makes sense: Gollum finds the Power Ring that’s supposed to go to Hal Jordan (who became the Green Lantern). And it’s available on a t-shirt, at least for today. Link

Over the years, I have seen a number of wild wedding bands that people wear. I am partial to the carbon fiber and tungsten type myself. If you are into photography, you will appreciate the wedding bands a couple photographers had made. The his band is made to resemble the focusing ring on a Leica 50mm Summilux lens while the hers band looks like the aperture ring from the same lens. The rings even have their own custom-made metal Leica camera blank for storage. link
A wedding ring is symbol of commitment and permanence. A tattoo is commitment and permanence in itself. Some couples are skipping the jewelry in favor of matching or complementary tattoos on the couple’s ring fingers. And why not? You don’t have to remove it to shower, work with machinery, or have an MRI. It can’t be lost or stolen. It will never have to be resized or replaced. And you can design your own unique symbols! See a variety of wedding band tattoos in this list by Shaun Usher. Link
Karen Woolley of Thrumpton, Nottinghamshire, England, couldn’t find her diamond ring she had taken off while she bathed the night before. Their four-month-old puppy Barney was a suspect. So Woolley turned to modern technology to find it.
“My husband Jonathan and I were searching everywhere, and then he had the idea of using the metal detector.
“We put Barney on the floor and ran the metal detector over him and he started to bleep.”
The ring that Barney had swallowed had been given to Mrs Woolley by her grandmother.
“It was her engagement ring,” said Mrs Woolley, who is setting up a bed-and-breakfast at her home in Thrumpton. “She’s 104 in two weeks’ time. It’s gold and has three big diamonds, so it is probably worth a lot, but it’s also very precious sentimentally.”
Barney is such a small dog that the ring wouldn’t pass naturally, and he underwent surgery to remove it. Woolley now stores her ring in a drawer when she isn’t wearing it. Link -via Arbroath
I’ll bet you never thought about wrapping your tweets around your finger. You can make your most meaningful tweets last by having your favourite 140 characters (or less) engraved on a stainless steel, silver or titanium ring.

Dog food can get quite expensive, but Joe the chocolate lab had what probably is the priciest meal ever recorded: $800 worth of dollar bills!
That actually ain’t so bad when compared to what Marley the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel ate:
This. Is. Awesome! Behold, the Gear Ring by Glen Liberman of Kinekt Design. It’s available in a few standard ring sizes and in limited quantities:
The Gear Ring is made from high quality matte stainless steel. It features six micro-precision gears that turn in unison when the outer rims are spun (as can be seen in the video).

Silversmith and offbeat artist Polly van der Glas creates jewelry made from human teeth, hair, and sterling silver. Aside from rings, she also makes necklaces, earrings, purses and more.
All works are handmade in Melbourne, with sterling silver, human hair and human teeth. Human teeth are locally donated and sterilised, and human hair is either locally donated or sourced from India and China.
Teeth are particularly difficult to come by, so any donations are gratefully accepted.

Did you see the ring around the moon last night? If you did and wondered what caused it, Yahoo! Buzz Log has the answer:
Though it looked ominous, the shiny ring around the moon last night was actually a rather common weather phenomenon. According to various weather-related blogs across the Buzz, this ring around the moon occurs when thin cirrus clouds, which contain ice crystals, refract the moonlight. A blog from the Goddard Space Flight Center explains that "the shape of the ice crystals results in a focusing of the light into a ring. Since the ice crystals typically have the same shape, namely a hexagonal shape, the Moon ring is always the same size."
What better way to teach your tots fashion sense and art at the same time than with these beauts? Behold the Crayon Rings, made by Timothy Liles out of washable (a must!) crayons.
It’s available at The Future Perfect, though at $50 a set, it’s more of object d’art rather than real toys for kids. Link – via Inhabitots and Yokiddo
Last I checked basic jewelry offers a vast multitude of stylish, and
some not-so-stylish, rings for consumers to choose from. We have
promise rings, mood rings, earrings, engagement rings, wedding rings,
class rings, Lord of the Rings (yes, Gollum’s “precious” is
available to purchase). But now, thanks to Icelandic designer Hafsteinn
Juliusson (try to say that five times fast), we now have … moss rings.
“Growing Jewelry is a redefinition of modern values. It is a clash of jewelry and gardening; couture and organism. The collection of this hand jewelry is designed for people in metropolitan cities and is an experiment in drawing nature toward man, as nature being the presupposition of life.”

Korean artist Jungyun Yoon created this Inner Message Ring, a metal band with raised text on the inside surface. After a while, the message ("Marry Me" and "Always") will imprint itself on the wearer’s finger!
Here’s a short and sweet YouTube clip of a woman who can hoop a hula (hula hoops? Who knows!) while swinging on rings.
It’s pretty amazing, actually – I can’t even use a hula hoop while standing on solid ground.
