Pizza Hut Proposal Package

Posted by Miss Cellania in Food & Drink, Holiday on February 11, 2012 at 8:00 am

Can you imagine anything more romantic, personal, and memorable than a proposal at a pizza chain? Pizza Hut is offering a deluxe Valentine’s Day proposal package that includes an engagement ring (no diamonds though -it’s ruby), photographer, videographer, limousine, fireworks, and a ten dollar pizza! The cost? Just $10,010. Better hurry and reserve your package, because they are only selling ten of them. But hey, if you miss out on the deal, you can a) make your proposal a surprise, 2) do it in a more personal place, and c) save enough money to pay for a nice wedding and/or honeymoon. The Gary Hudston Project

Posted by Miss Cellania in Gaming, Video Clips on August 24, 2011 at 5:33 am

(YouTube link)

Attention, Portal 2 fans! Gary Hudston commissioned a series of custom levels of the game.

The clever puzzles were put together by designers Doug “TopHATTWaffle” Hoogland and Rachel “Miss Stabby” van der Meer, who should probably be hired by Valve to work on Portal 3. And if you’re wondering how they did such an accurate GLaDOS impression, well, that’s Ellen McLain, the actual voice of GLaDOS.

If you don’t care anything about the game, you should skip ahead about six minutes and watch the rest anyway. The Daily What Geek has this plus a second video, the “super-sexy cinematic version”. Link

Yes, this is another public marriage proposal video, taken at Comic-Con. Yes, the audio is difficult to hear, and for some reason the person recording it held the phone upright. But it’s short and the last few seconds make it all worthwhile. -via reddit

A guy in Johannesburg hired 100 singers to stage a flashmob at a mall, all to propose to his girlfriend. I cannot understand how some shoppers are in such a hurry that they can’t stop and enjoy the moment with them. Or do singing flash mobs happen every day at the mall? -via Buzzfeed

Proposal On Stage with Robots

Posted by Miss Cellania in Entertainment, Robot on March 15, 2011 at 7:21 am

Chicago actress Nina O’Keefe is currently starring in the play Heddatron, which is about a woman who is kidnapped by robots. Her boyfriend, Erik Schroeder, works for a different theater company, but was called on stage for the curtain call because it was his 30th birthday. However, that was just a ruse.

After Sunday’s show, Schroeder was called up on stage, ostensibly so the cast, crowd and the robots involved in the play could sing happy birthday, but instead of receiving the birthday song — and prompted by a robot — Schroeder pulled out a ring and proposed to his girlfriend of six years (watch video below).

“It was my great grandmother’s sister’s ring,” said Schroeder. “She had to take off the costume ring she was wearing for the play, but I was lucky because it fit perfectly.”

And of course, O’Keefe said yes.

After which the robots serenaded the happy couple. The proposal was captured on video. Link -via Fark

Sid Ceaser proposed to Sara Prindiville as a Muppet. Really. He has been a Muppet fan all his life. When the time came, Sid ordered custom designed Muppets that resembled the couple and produced a film about them. It was shown along with the previews at a theater he took Sara to. Of course, she recognized who the Muppets were as soon as she saw them. And she said yes! Read the story of how the film came about, see photographs of the happy couple, and watch outtakes and behind-the-scenes footage of the project. Link -Thanks, Mike Weinstein!

Man Proposed in Sewer, Woman Flushed and As-Septic

Posted by Alex in Everything Else on June 8, 2010 at 3:55 pm

If this marriage ends up down the drain, you can’t blame the couple. After all, it did start out in the sewer:

It’s not the most romantic spot for a marriage proposal but it’s one that worked for Steven Sparks – the 41-year-old got down on one knee in front of girlfriend Carolyn Payne during a trip to Victorian sewers.

And the 29-year-old said ‘yes’ in front of her clapping fellow tour-goers despite the unusual surroundings.
‘Anyone can get engaged at the Eiffel Tower or over a candlelit dinner but this was unique,’ said Mr Sparks.

Pokemon Marriage Proposal

Posted by John Farrier in Toys, Video Clips on November 16, 2009 at 4:24 pm

(YouTube Link)

How else would one propose marriage to the woman with the world’s largest Pokemon collection? Especially if you met her at a Pokemon competition? JC Fletcher writes for Joystiq:

When Chris Herbert decided to pop the question to his girlfriend of three years, Belle Starenchak, he picked the most romantic place he could think of: Anime Weekend Atlanta, with both dressed as Pokemon. It … kind of makes sense for them.

Belle, or “PikaBelleChu,” is featured in the Guinness Book of World Records: Gamer Edition for her massive Pikachu memorabilia collection, and Herbert met her by staging a Pokemon auction. So while we might be tempted to laugh, it would seem that the pursuit of ‘em all is a major component of this couple’s lives.

Epic Marriage Proposal

Posted by Miss Cellania in Video Clips on November 12, 2009 at 1:10 pm

(YouTube link)

Over a few years and several blogs I have posted quite a few imaginative marriage proposals, but this is by far the most elaborate proposal I have ever encountered. Steve posted the story at the YouTube page.

I have know my fiance Tracey Wade for over 14 years and wanted to propose to her in a very unique way. Tracey thought we were just going to the movies on a Sunday afternoon. Little did she know, I had rented the entire theater and filled it with 160 of our friends and family. I made it seem as though we were showing up a little late to the movie and went in to the theater after the lights had gone down and the movie trailers were already playing. This was done to keep her from recognizing anyone in the theater. What I had done was make an entire movie trailer that had actors portraying both Tracey and I at different times in our lives, both present day and in the future. After a few trailers played including one for Lord of the Rings the one I had made started. Tracey thought it was just another trailer for a movie soon to be released. Tracey was just perplexed as to how many different things had similarities to our relationship, she kept nudging me throughout the trailer. Tracey had no idea this was a marriage proposal until the last three seconds of the trailer.

Nine months earlier in September of 2006 I started by hiring a professional production team, securing two and a half million dollars (FOR FREE) worth of film equipment (THANK YOU PANAVISION, THEY DONATED THE EQUIPMENT FOR THE SHOOT), and writing a script that would show what would go through someone’s mind (Tracey’s) if they were about to die. It is said “moments before you die your life flashes right before your eyes”. JUST A NOTE: Ever since Tracey was a young girl, she has had a reoccurring dream that she was going to die in a plane crash. Actors were cast to portray both Tracey and I at different times in our lives (twenty years in the future as well as present day)

Oh yeah, she said yes! This is one of The Top 14 Geekiest Wedding Proposals at LaptopLogic. Link -via Unique Daily
