Celebrity Bird Attacks Policeman

A 3-foot-tall macaw named Chip is in a bit of trouble over a traffic stop. The bird, who starred in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, attacked a policeman in the course of his duties in Dover, England.

The officer arrested the woman on suspicion of driving while banned.

The attack came when he attempted to drive her car to the pound, with Chip loose inside.

The parrot, who has a 1.2m wingspan, perched on the steering wheel, pecking at the officer’s fingers throughout the journey.

Chip was not arrested, but is being held by the RSPCA until his unnamed owner is released. Link -via Arbroath

Scarecrow Policeman Slows Traffic

Posted by Alex in Everything Else on April 30, 2009 at 2:22 pm

Tired of speeding cars, residents of the village of Crosby-on-Eden in Cumbria, England, decided to take matters into their own hands: by creating a scarecrow policeman, complete with a radar gun made from a water bottle!

David Sowden, another resident, added: "Certainly from a distance it looks like a genuine police officer.

"One visitor said it would be a good idea to keep that up for a week and then replace him with a proper physical police officer with a gun for another week and see what happens.

"It has made them nose dive and they said they couldn’t believe the reaction."
