We’ve featured adorable subatomic particles from The Particle Zoo previously at Neatorama. Now they have a new item called the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation. Plush Monsters Designed by Kids

Artist Anne Karsten led a group of 4th and 5th graders through the process of designing monsters. Then she made 24 plush versions of the monsters based on their drawings! The toys were then sold (to their parents) as a fundraiser for the school. Link to story. Link to pictures. -via Boing Boing

Cuddly IKEA Stuffed Animals

I mean, if you find cockroaches cuddly. Or is it a roly poly? I don’t know what this thing is supposed to be, and I can’t find it on the IKEA site. All I know is that I was simultaneously repulsed and amused when I saw a big bin of these at IKEA the other day, so I snapped a picture. His mouth zips open, so he can be used for storage or as a purse or something. I thought about getting this for a friend’s upcoming baby shower, but then decided she probably wouldn’t appreciate the gesture.

I’m torn. What do you guys think – funny? Creepy? Or both?

Anatomical Heart Plushie

Just in time for Valentine’s Day – surprise your loved one with an anatomical heart they can cuddle up with! Well, you don’t have to stick with a heart. There are also seven other plush organs to choose from, including a “heart of gold.” Maybe I’ll get my husband the plush pancreas for Valentine’s Day, since his doesn’t work.

If you were hoping for a plush uterus, though, you’re out of luck – they’ve recalled the uterus due to choking hazards. True story.
